Just a shot in the dark, but I would try to rename my savegame to ...FOC..., defreeze it and rename it back to ...EAW...

Be sure to set it to the version of FoC (Retail or Steam) that you're using!

It will probably work for both, EaW and FoC, although we only tested it with FoC.

There is no (practical) way of undoing the defreezing process.
I suggest to make a copy of the savegame file before defreezing it. Never defreeze a file that was saved while in a tactical battle (land or space), though!

This isn't a mod nor a patch, it's a tool to reverse a certain bug of the game. Just extract the file(s), execute the .exe, choose the savegame file you wish to defreeze and defreeze it.

You can put the DeFreezer anywhere you want.
It doesn't need a specific location.

If you mean it's the .rar archive that you cannot open, then WinRAR would be 1st choice...

The savegames you used the Defreezer on, were they made when you were still on the galactic level or did you save them while already in a tactical battle (land or space)?
