Help Modifying Games Needed

FPSGameFan Blog

I have modified games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic by changing texture assignments, and I have modified a skin from a fan-created model for a ship from Starfleet Command III, but I have never been able to modify games like Alien versus Predator or personally made a noticeable change to Doom 3: BFG Edition. I downloaded the Doom 3 Demo and placed the original tan Marine armor skins in the folder in the Hi Def version, but the tan armor does not appear in the game. I need help with this.

Doom 3 BFG Edition Mod Compatibility Issues

FPSGameFan Blog

I have been a fan of the Doom series for years. I played Doom, and I played the similar Duke Nukem 3D. I actually played the demo version of Doom 3, with the flashlight, the pistol, the machine gun, and the plasma gun available. When I discovered an internet-based version that included all Doom games and expansions, I felt I had to get it, but proved somewhat of a let-down, as it eliminated some early content, and mods refuse to work with it. I have tried everything just to give the player character a helmet, as it seems odd running across the surface of Mars without a helmet. Nothing works. I just think that feature would improve upon the idea that the player character is supposed to be the player himself/herself. While the player character in The Lost Mission is implied to be wearing a helmet, in Doom 3, a helmet is not available, and, in Resurrection of Evil, I like the new helmets, but the player character is seen removing his helmet before gameplay starts. I tried going through the data files, but, since Doom 3 BFG Edition uses multiple file formats, locating one that would provide a helmet is difficult.
