I'll have to check that out, it looks like you can build some good looking planes. Curious to see how the flight mechanics and physics compare to Lift.

I use this for .rar files: Rarlab.com
extract the rar and there is an exe inside
Busy life stuff getting in the way but it's still being worked on. Got a few things to get done before a new update is posted on here. I try to post more frequently on the tigsource devlog so if you are curious to see what is being worked on before updates are posted here, check it out. Forums.tigsource.com
I think the server provider was having some issues the other day. Seems like it's working fine now. Thanks for the heads up!
Just extract the downloaded file and run the exe. Should be simple as that!
Hi, sorry I did not see this until now. I will respond when I get some time!
I have not played RigidChips, but that is the second time it has been mentioned. I'll be sure to check it out!
It's magic! smoke and mirrors and optical illusions :P
Definitely going to explore some of those ideas. Flying planes is much more fun when there are bombs and guns attached :)
Yes, that is a good idea. There is some discussion and a simple test demonstration starting here in the primary dev log: Forums.tigsource.com
No, I have not heard any reports of a virus in any of the downloads.
Yeah I'm hoping it will be as easy as a button press to enable or disable advanced features. At the same time though, I'm not sure there will be two different modes. It might make sense to just combine it all into one. We will just have to wait and see how it all comes together :)
Hehe yeah I flew your plane, that thing is huge, probably the biggest one yet :P
You should go in and make each part of the plane much heavier (increase mass value). Very large wings and component sizes with relatively light weight do not work very well.
Thanks! looking forward to seeing the video :)
Some physics stuff changed in this latest version, so the old planes may not behave exactly how they did in the previous version.
I'll have to add an in game change log that better explains what and why things changed.
Thanks for the suggestions. The editor will be getting an overhaul in the next version which will hopefully address a lot of issues.
And I completely forgot I added this but you can press 'F' to focus the camera on whatever object you currently have selected in the editor.
I figured if someone tried hard enough they could crash into the thing :P Now I wish there was some cool effect for doing that.
The reason your wings blew apart after releasing the missiles is because those missiles were providing extra weight to your wings and therefore making it more resistant to the effects of going really fast. Once you released the missiles, the wings couldn't handle the speed and they broke off.
In the future this will hopefully be explained better and there will be more support for seeing and managing how much stress your plane can take before this happens.
Good suggestion, and it is something I've experienced myself. There are some altitude numbers on the lower left hud. The blue number is altitude above sea level, and the brownish one is altitude above the ground beneath you. Not the best solution to the problem but something to help for now.
That is awesome. Except now I wish I named it Bift, for big indie flight tech :P
Thanks sionco :) But let's be honest here, can making the enterprise really be considered wasting time? :P
Almost got taken out by a few missiles. Instead they take each other out! The colored lines from the missiles are from the debug physics display to show what is happening.
Thanks! the art style is mostly out of necessity at this point since I am flying solo at the moment and I'm not an artist :P It will probably stay like this though, just with a little added love from a real artist eventually.
Not sure, the person that made it just named it "SpaceShip". Definitely some similarities there.
The user who created this plane named it "Birdy". It was a very fun plane to fly. Unfortunately, version changes have rendered it unavailable at this time.
Slow motion shot of a plane crashing. This plane was going about 250 m/s when this was captured.
This is what happens when a plane goes too fast for its own good. It blows up and parts go flying. You can see the wing physics in action here as each wing falls off and flies on its own.
The enterprise... a little sloppy and gets completely destroyed by a missile :P
