i really like the game. however the new alien control system (compared to the last 2 games) is frankly clumsy. in the old ones i found i could pounce, make transitions quickly between different surfaces and not lose my orientation... its quite the opposite in this one.. it might be that i need to get used to it, but so far that's been the only thing that's brought the game down for me. the rest is really nice though! defs getting the final version

the music was adapted from transformers the movie - it is a currently a placeholder track - the mod will feature its own unique soundtrack . ;)

no none of these models are the same as the garry's mod stuff. Everything you see here has been modeled by members of the Whirlwind Games Dev Team. We do not tolerate under any circumstances the use of models from other mods unless it is with strict permission or it is apart of a collaborative effort.

Looks like you're quite a popular person as of late. Im not surprised, your artistic ability is very very good!

You stated in your thread that you were looking for some mods to join. I'm Formula, Co-lead of the Stargate: SG-27 modification for crysis engine.

Currently our team has about 30 active dev members, but we are always looking for more to add to the project. The main goal of the project is to be a non profit group of modders intent on expanding their creative ability whilst at the same time enriching the community with interactive art driven by passion and creativity. Many members have come from former stargate mods, sci-fi mods as well as other backgrounds, however they all share a common goal of creating an interactive work that is highly creative and fun to play !

As we already have a couple of concept artists on the team, the work load will not be intensive. However at the same time, we intend to promote and give credit to the work done by every dev member in the team, so that they can be acknowledged by the community and can add their work to their respective portfolios.

Anyway I'm babbling on, so i won't keep you any longer . If you're interested, in whatever capacity ( even if its just as an observer) , feel free to come visit us at www.whirlwind-games.com and then head to the forum !

As stated in the news update, the weapons shown are not the only ones that we will be having in the mod. After all, we cant have a stargate mod/game without the p90 ! We'd be shooting ourselves in the foot if we chose not to include it hehe :P

With regards to the mp5 , you are right in saying its easier to use the modification system that crysis already has. It just makes it easier.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies so far. ;)

Gwahir, although stargate TC 2 did release today, it is my understanding that it is a HL-2 multiplayer only mod, at least for the time being.

With the first release of our mod, we wish to explore the concept of an atmospheric single player storyline. Also we felt that cryengine2 (crysis) would be the best medium to construct the project on, due to its power and also the size of the modding community on it.

Whilst i understand your hesitation about yet another stargate mod, and believe me there have been plenty around, we feel that with the team we have, (many of them coming from past stargate mods such as the unreal tournament 3 TEW one), we can make something that is different to all the other ones out there. We also do it because we love the series, and we love modding. :)

hey man

just listened. Its ok, but try get your texture working better. Ie try to get the instruments to interact more with each other, rather than a few playing here and there. Also , are you playing by hand via keyboard ? If so , this can limit your ability to notate and orchestrate larger ensembles.

The thing with the halo melodies is that they develop particular motives over and over again, so try using your opening motive , then developing it throughout the rest of the piece, via modulation, rhythmic variation, texture, instrumentation etc etc.

Keep going though, practice makes perfect :)
