This is a late reply, I know. I remember my complaint about the usage of those tree models several years ago.
Well, I changed the terms. Those trees, if still interested, are now licensed under Creative Commons and available for public use. I have released them on GitHub:
A lot of reasons for me to leave the modding communities for some period and never really planned to return. Yes, you can say that "******** blew my head".
Still, I had other interests than continuing development of a non-profitable mod for an unstable game-engine. As a mod developer, I realized the C&C Generals game engine could never handle SZ as I'd like to.
Much better communication to the community would have been good, though. I adḿit it. Not very well played from my side in overall.
