Now when you mentioned Gonarch, it reminded me that was indeed the case. I used up like half of all the ammo I had to kill it, way more than in the original HL1. Meanwhile I discovered that on Half-life.fandom.com it is written "Also due to a current bug, crossbow bolts and explosives cannot damage the Gonarch; the player has to rely on bullet-firing and energy weapons." This just might be the case. In original HL1 I remember that using crossbow on Gonarch was quite effective, on each shot some green blood was also spewing out. In source version however, hitting Gonarch with a crossbow just induced a metallic sound and sparks, no blood. Didn't seem to do any damage whatsoever.

Regarding turrets, I definitely remember it happening with the one in the end of training (I think it comes out of the ceiling when you shoot friendly NPCs) and with this one here: Youtu.be

About saving in Residue processing - pretty sure I discovered this problem when I had stopped the compressors, then I saved, then I tried to load and it didn't work. So maybe it had something to do with stopping the compressors.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

I actually already got it working based on your March 8th comment under summary and played the game through. Those instructions were good and clear enough. I would recommend that you involve these instructions into the patch as a .txt file for example, you would have less answering to do.

As for the game, here are some of the bugs/differences that I encountered compared to original HL1.

I played the source version on max graphics (like the original), but when I closed the game and opened it again, many if not all graphics settings were reset, so each time I had to put them to the max again.

I more often than not shot through houndeyes, not doing any damage to them. It seems the only certain time when the bullet didn't just go through was when they were charging for the attack. Also, it took 3 hits with the basic handgun to kill them, compared to 4 in original HL1 (I played both on the hardest difficulty). I occasionally also shot through other enemies, I spotted that happening with a barnacle and a few vortigaunts, but it happened much less than with houndeyes.

I didn't take any damage from turret machine guns when I was ducking. Didn't notice it with other enemies.

In original HL1, if you picked up grenades (or any ammo in this case, it seems), any extra grenades over 10 went to waste. In source, you only pick up the amount of grenades you need to get to 10 and any extra stays on the ground for picking up later. I actually like this one, though it makes the game a bit easier.

In the level where you first meet Gargantua, there is a broken pipe spewing out fire. This fire didn't do any damage to me or to vortigaunts.

In Residue processing, there are three parallel flow lines with compressors above them. When you press the button, the compressors stopped indefinitely. In original HL1, there was a time limit for that. Also, I had some bug in this level so that I couldn't load the saved game. I had to restart from the beginning of the level and play it through in one sitting without dying or loading.

In Questionable ethics, the game crashed when I climbed out of the pipe. I think it happened only once though.

That's all I could spot. Thank you for the work done.

BloodyMuffin, I sincerely respect and admire all the effort you have put in this mod, but the instructions of getting this to work are some of the worst I have seen on the internet for years.

Where is the sourcemods directory? Somebody mentioned you have to install "source 2013" first, where do I get this from?
