the 64bit and 32bit compaibility options relate to the version of Java, not your OS - even if you have say, Windows 7 64bit, you might only have 32bit Java installed...

Not sure what you mean by rotate your house? This is not a 3D game, it's a 2d isometric, the map/world can't be rotated...

Delete the “Project Zomboid” directory from your Desura Folder (Usually: C:\Program Files\Desura\Common\), restart Desura and then re-install Project Zomboid.

Alternatively, this may be due to using an older version of Desura.
In that case, please uninstall Desura completely. Make sure there are no files left of it by going to the install directoy yourself (making sure it is NOT there anymore). The default install directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura or C:\Program Files\Desura for systems using a 32 Bit OS.
When you made sure Desura is uninstalled, download the latest version and install it: Indiedb.com

You can post your problem in the PZ forums:
Theindiestone.com
Also, try manually installing/re-installing latest version of Java, then try again:

You might have eaten some rotten/spoiled food, or uncooked food. If this does happen, then rest, making sure you're well-fed, can help you get well again...

the 32bit and 64bit only relates to the version of Java. You can be running a 64bit OS, but only have 32bit Java installed. There's no real difference to be honest, but if you want to run the 64bit, you have to install 64bit Java...

Just because you're using Windows7 64bit, doesn't mean that you have 64bit Java installed. You can have Windows7 64bit, but use 32bit java.

To check, see if you have this folder:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin" (This is where Java 64bit gets installed).

(The 32bit version of Java is installed to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin")

You could also try manually installing/re-installing the 64bit Java before running Desura, just in case. Download the 64bit version here:

A couple of things to try: Try manually updating your java before launching the game, if no luck, try running Desura in "offline" mode...

Haven't heard of that issue, before you just "fall ove dead", do you see any "moodles"? (The icons on the right hand side that appear when you're hungry, tired, hurt etc)

Split screen, and controller support is very much still experimental - some things will be fixed next build...

Also, hold the left mouse button and "charge" your attack, then release when in range...

I think the moderators of the PZ forums are trying to get a post/link stickied here, but for now, I'd suggest posting your issue, with details, Systems specs etc in the PZ Support forum:

Theindiestone.com

There's a good bunch of people there, and will assist where they can.

Unfortunately, not in the 2.9.8b build. They do plan to bring this function back at some stage...

Try "charging" your hits by holding the left mouse button, then releasing when in range. Also, if you can knock a Zombie to the ground, then stand near them and finish the off before they get up. Make sure you "aim" where you want to hit too, (this can be tricky when using say, the rolling pin, as the weapon sprite is still the baseball bat sprite, but the rolling pin max range isn't as far...)

The more you use a weapon type, (blunt, blade etc), you will eventually level up, and be more effective with that weapon.

One more thing - some weapons are just crap...if you can find one, the baseball bat is great, the axe even better...

The random gunshot noises, rarer chopper and plane sounds are there to make the Zombie hordes "migrate" They can work in your favour, or if you're unluck, bring a horde shambling in your direction! :)
Obviously, once NPCs are back in, the gunshots will actually be from random NPCs etc, but it's basically a technique they're using to migrate the hordes around the map...

This is RC2.9, working towards RC3, then on to Steam. The main reason they wanted to get this out there is to iron out the game-breaking bugs before going to Steam. I know they felt like the Desura users were long over-due for an update, (been at 1.5 for a long time), whereas people using the test builds from the PZ forums have been trying updated versions for a while.
They are working on it, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!
If you find full screen at 1920x 1080 too small, try changing the in-game res. The UI is bigger when using controllers too...

um, yes there is, it's just in experimental testing at the moment. My Logitech Dual Action works....sort of...just waiting for my wireless adapter to arrive so I can use my XBox 360 wireless controllers.

Yeah, the clicking on some containers can be a little "picky" at the moment...I usually check containers by using the "Loot All" window, and clicking on the little icons for each container instead to open them...

I think to make tent poles, you need a plank of wood, and the saw in your inventory, then right-click on the plank, and you should get an option to make a stick?

1. It's an Alpha funded game, still in development
2. They are currently concentrating on working through the bugs for the PC version, and will then likely push out the Mac and Linux builds.
3. From their "Legal Info" details when you buy the game:

Legal Info
Due to us using the money to actively fund development, and therefore to protect ourselves and our transaction handlers from the risk of some mass refund request, we need to state that we do not accept refunds (though in extenuating circumstances we may consider it). Your key will remain valid for all future updates of Project Zomboid and we intend to support it for many years to come. We are not legally bound to provide additional updates, and you are paying for the product as it stands now. All purchases apply to PC, Mac and Linux desktop versions of the current game only – and not any potential future sequels or offshoots related to the game.
4. If you DO want to request a refund, then I'd suggest contacting:

Not yet....that is planned for "RC3", whereas we are currently at "RC2.9". The plan is to get the "Kate and Baldspot" story/tutorial back in soon, (which uses the same "metagame" system that the NPCs will use), so will be some time after that, but is definitely coming!

Full multiplayer is probably a way off, but what you mentioned has been suggested, and something like that is a definite possibility at some stage...

First time I've heard of that issue, "WASD" are definitely yhe default controls for keyboard/mouse movement. In the main game options, are the KeyBindings set to WASD?

From what I've read, first, try updating the Desura client. If it still doesn't launch, maybe try launching the game directly from the game folder, (rather than the Desura client) - you should find the "ProjectZomboid32.exe" and "ProjectZomboid64.exe" in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\Project Zomboid" folder, (or wherever Desura is installed)...

hmmm, bugger. I know they're still working on a few things, including controller support. May be best to wait until the next release, (which hopefully won't be toooo far away), and see if helps. In your "C:\Users\USERNAME\Zomboid\joypads\" folder, is there a file there that ends in ".config"? (it'll normally have the name of your detected controller in front, eg: Logitech Dual USB.config etc)
What does yours get detected as?

Sorry, I missunderstood. So, you start a new game, exit and saves okay, but when you reload/continue that game, the graphics aren't working? What exactly happens with the graphics?
I'd definitely recommend posting this in the support section/bug reports on the PZ forums...

The old inventory was a bit cumbersome, and a real pain the arse when you had a lot of items. Once you get used to the new system, it really is much better.
As far as crafting, it's MUCH easier than the old system - as long as you have the necessary items in your inventory, for example, a can opener and a can of beans, then all you have to do is right-click on the can of beans, and you have an option to "create" and "Open can of beans". Right-clicking gives you many context-sensitive commands in the new builds...
