Me? Well I'm ErastusMercy, the lead voxel artist on the popular Tiberian Sun mod, Twisted Insurrection. If you don't know what a voxel is then I'll put it this way, I make the vehicles. :P In addition to my roles on TI, I've also done Infantry cameo's (The unit portrait you see when purchasing/selecting a particular unit.) for the C&C3 mods Tiberium Wars Advanced and The Forgotten Mod.
This unit was inspired by the vehicle Westwood used to showcase the upgrade system during early development of their ill-fated C&C3: Incursion.
Trivia: Originally intended as a replacement image for the MLRS (scaled down of course) a large proportion of the team (Aro included) decided it should be an entirely new unit. And so it became the Behemoth, GDI's counterpart to the Banshee Bomber.
What kind of weapons does it have?
That has yet to be finalised, since it's now a new unit and not a replacement for an already existing one.
However, I made it with the intention of it firing two long range cluster missiles, think of it as a none nuclear MIRV.
An alternative idea I've proposed since it's re-tooling into a new unit, was that it could launch a few short lived drones (using DTA aircraft carrier logic), armed with mini ion cannons.
Update: The unit now dubbed "Behemoth", is armed with what are essentially dual metal storm howitzers, quite apt given the design of the weapons.
This voxel would do really well with animated tracks like those produced by our Chinese counterparts on RA2DIY.
I'm normally against the practice as it's too much work for so little reward, but since these tracks are exposed, it would look great in-game so is worthy of the extra effort.
Ah yes the hva trick, I've done it twice myself, it's a royal pain in the arse but you're correct it'd look better with animated tracks.
