I don't know if this matters, but check that the custom story is located in the following place:

redist/custom stories/Mr.Austins Experiment/content

That you DON'T have it for example like this:

redist/custom stories/Mr.Austins Experiment/Mr.Austins Experiment/content

Have you tested if the previous versions of the stories works for you now as we speak? And the newest (Version 1.2) doesn't work?

What does it say in the crash report?

The bugs that you encountered has/will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

It was hard to determine if the story will be too easy, or too hard, but well, experience gives you knowledge :)

It really depends if you have trouble finding solutions to the puzzles and stuff, but a rough estimation would be 1 - 1.5 hours.
