Radiant is the best editor ever. I tried almost everything - Hammer, WadAuthor, Build (these are "a bit" older, i know), UnrealEd... Radiant rules, you just have to get used to the interface...

Turn off "Cubic clipping" (or something like that, depends on the version you're using).

i though about recreating the episode "rising" - exploring the atlantis, the city is coming alive... but then i realized - for every light coming up it means several lines of script code....

map progress: i decided to use another stargate model, with MUCH less polys than the one i'm using, and it still looks great...

i just want to say one thing - it will be SP mission (or missions) - it won't work in MP

there's just a little plan: submission in SGC (some sort of minigames, you walk through the base to get to know it), dialing out, mission (with primary&secondary objectives), dialing home, end sequence (debriefing or something, just 'cause of the story)

it was really hard to create the kawoosh, i thought i could make it by scaling the md3 model, but htere's no function for it! so i had to animate it adn export with animation... i can post a video with dialing (no dialing computer, just a button in the gateroom) and the gate opening...

yes, that's pretty much the idea. but one problem in SP is programming the NPCs, otherwise they just stand where you put them and do nothing (if they're enemies, they'll attack, but still stand). i can try, but can't start in the next 2 weeks (school)

i like your ideas, especially the hyperdrive, but it would require so much of scripting, and in my experience most of it doesn't work in MP, but in SP only. Like the rings - i created the rings, with authentic audio and video effect, it worked fine in SP, but i couldn't get it to work in MP, there were no rings, no sound, it just teleported me somewhere... i can upload the test map for you to see but that's it for now...

i'm thinking about recreating the map right now... but i have no idea what to change or add... if not atlantis, i could make an SG-1 map, with 3 sites - SGC, planet, ship in orbit (transport using rings or asgard teleport..)

sorry if i disappointed you. i compiled the map so many times so some brushes begun to corrupt... i don't know if you discovered that you can use the teleporter to beam yourself to jumper bay... i thought about recreating the map and use it in a SP mod...
