The quiet coastal town has been brutally attacked by marine life. As a fisherman in a coastal town, Chris led some surviving townspeople and several police officers to escape the town in an abandoned bus under the desperate protection of Royal Police Warren and a group of police officers. They were temporarily given a chance to survive.

A long time after the bus started driving, the sun had risen high, but Chris still couldn't calm down in his heart. The bloody scenes still kept appearing in front of Chris's eyes. The beheaded Luna and Warren's tragic death made him unable to recover from the panic for a long time.

The townspeople and police who escaped from danger were also silent. Everyone had just experienced a bloody test and had not yet gotten rid of the great fear.

Only the bus driver, Barrod, drove the car in an orderly manner. Although he was very frightened in his heart, he knew that he could only be worthy of the dead Warren if he drove the car steadily.

By noon, the bus was basically out of danger and arrived at the inland city, Kulun City. The blood-covered townspeople and police officers got off the bus one after another, and their hearts began to gradually calm down.

News of the attack on coastal towns has reached Cullen City, which has taken alert measures. The roads are filled with sandbags and roadblocks. Trenches have been dug and sandbags piled on the edge of the city in preparation for attacks by marine life.

In fact, the entire coastal areas of the empire have been attacked by marine creatures to varying degrees, and a large number of mature monsters have also appeared in the inland forest areas. Both the docile sheep and the hard-working oxen seemed to have gone crazy. They all picked up swords and guns and started this war against humans.

Tigers, jackals and lions all wore fine armor and held swords and spears. Even the birds of the sky have joined their ranks. Whether it is the geese returning south, the white pigeons, or even the eagles, they have all turned into murderous demons.

Almost the entire empire was at war at the same time, and military and police forces from all over the country gathered to fight to the death against the invading birds and beasts on the border. In order to deal with the problem of insufficient troops, the imperial government was forced to open its arsenals and allow citizens to arm themselves to resist the invasion of these beasts.

Cullen City also received a similar order, and the entire city entered a state of first-level combat readiness. Trenches and concrete walls were built one after another to block the attacks of the creatures.

The gas station where Chris and the townspeople were located was transformed into a temporary headquarters. Dense wires covered the entire gas station. Chris and the townspeople received food and other relief supplies in a tent outside the gas station.

A middle-aged man wearing a cowboy hat warmly received Chris and his party: "Hello, my name is Yesed, and I am the interim acting mayor of Cullen City. Currently, I am solely responsible for leading the citizens to guard this place, uh, I can be considered a commander."

Yested's humor temporarily calmed Chris and the nervous townspeople.

Afterwards, Yesed introduced some situations in Cullen City to Chris and the others, while Barrod filled up the passenger car's fuel tank at the gas station in case of emergency.

The movement of the sea creature was much faster than Chris imagined. In the evening, its forward troops had already reached the suburbs of the city.

After observing the enemy situation, the lookout post in Cullen City immediately rang the bell to warn: "Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

Immediately afterwards, a white flare flashed across the dark night sky, indicating that the attack of sea creatures had begun. Soon, the watchtower was hit by the enemy's trebuchet, and it suddenly burst into flames. The guards on the tower were covered in fire, and then fell down screaming, and soon became silent.

Under the cover of the trebuchet, the marine creatures launched a rapid attack. The citizens used shotguns, bows and arrows to resist bravely, and the fighting lasted all day and night.

The citizens fought with marine life all night long and repelled the enemy attack at dawn. Chris stayed up all night due to excessive nervousness and fell asleep in a drowsy manner in the early morning.

But soon, the attack of sea creatures started again. Under the command of Gudemos (the high priest of sea creatures), the ferocious army of sea creatures launched a fierce attack, and the exhausted defenders could only continue to fight. The fighting continued until dusk, before the enemy was forced to retreat.

In this way, the defenders of Cullen City and the army of marine creatures have been fighting back and forth for several days. Both sides have suffered heavy losses. The ground is full of corpses of creatures and humans, and the smell is unpleasant.

The gas station where Chris was located was also hit by several stone-throwing bombs, killing several townspeople. The enemy's trebuchets smashed a large hole in the roof of the gas station, which could only be covered with wooden boards.

The fighting is still going on, and the citizens of Cullen City are worried day and night, unable to sleep. Chris doesn't know how long such a cruel fighting will last. Every night, Chris lay on a simple iron bed, looking up at the endless starry sky, not knowing where the future would lead.

Such cruel years lasted for several weeks, and Barrod and the townspeople finally lost their patience. One morning, at Barrod's suggestion, Chris agreed to the action plan to evacuate Cullen City.

Chris then met Yesed at the gas station and explained their intention to leave.

"I have to take responsibility for the townspeople," Chris said.

Yesed smiled: "It doesn't matter, I understand your difficulties."

Before leaving, Chris asked Yesed: "Aren't you going to leave with us?"

Yesed smiled: "This is my city. Even if I die, I will die here."

After hearing these words, Chris suddenly felt a surge of sadness in his heart. He thought of Detective Warren who died tragically in front of him.

Barrod patted Chris on the shoulder: "Everyone has something to do. This is true for Warren, and the same is true for Yesed, but we must continue to live."

Chris had no choice but to board the escape bus. As the bus slowly started moving, Chris and others once again embarked on their escape journey.
