This is something I wanted from the day DOOM 3 was released after having seen earlier trailers with this shotgun and it is very exciting to have it actually come true finally some 12 years later.

Still one of the most spectacular total conversions, the game is spooky and has more atmosphere and story than some professionally-made games.

Have you ever played a mod good enough that the company who owns the franchise copies your idea for their reboot of the franchise? That's how ground-breaking Brutal DOOM is. I have so many fond memories of playing the game Blood and how bloody it was, and this brings that to DOOM and goes far beyond what even Blood did. It might be well into "gore porn" territory like the Saw series of gory films, but there's something very satisfying about all of it as a game, from the power of the weapons to the juicy explosions of viscera to how it changes the gameplay and creates a whole new game that makes you want to reply through the classic DOOM games every time it gains new features. Having all the enemies as sprites allows laying waste in this way to ludicrous numbers of monsters at once and in conjunction with great source ports like GZDOOM is very much a rightful heir for 21st century DOOM.
