Quick question im currently making a small (OLAH!!) mod including mostly units and weapons and a few vehicles but...… ive run into a problem I have all the textures, models, sounds ect.. but I just started moding with 3ds max pretty much got the hang of everything except when I apply the textures in 3dsmax, they don't fit correctly and look weird. I got everything from friends who mod for Garry's mod and i think it might have something to due with the type of file i export them as or due to the model coming in multiple different pieces and not knowing if i have to connect certain ones for a texture that might require them to be connected. sorry i know this is a lot but i couldn't find anything anywhere, but any advice?

Ok so usually when i apply textures i use Edit Poly: Polygon and select the specific pieces of a model that are changed by the Textures. SO for the ODST Model i had the Helmet textures and Body textures. I applied the Body texture however the helmet was also changed along with the body in order to fix this i used Polygon amd selected the Helmet by itself and then dragged the texture onto the model while having 3ds max open. Im not sure exactly if that was your problem but i cant access steam right now so i hope this helps.
