Edain Mod

Mod review

At first, I was a big fan of this mod to the point that I don't play any other mods besides it. I really enjoyed the mechanics and the playstyle it gives to the game as well as its factions. I especially liked the capture point (I don't know what it's called) system as I think it balances out the game while also making it simple enough not to be heavily micro-intensive and helps noobs and single players such as myself. However, over time I find more and more problems in the mod. There are times when I can't play a specific faction on a map without my game crashing (Maybe it's the game's fault but nonetheless) although some previous instances were fixed by patches. I would also like to point out that when there are many units in the game, it's really hard to see whos which. Certain heroes tend to be on the overpowered side, or some even on the underpowered side. The balance of the game also can come into question as well as the AI of the game. I was a bit underwhelmed when the Misty Mountains update came, the goblins are to me a mess. Though, I hope and believe that the developers would take note of the obvious problems that I encounter, and do hope that in the future updates, fixes and balance changes will hopefully bring me back to playing it again. But for now, I wait.
