Hey Seamus, it's great to hear from you! Thank you so much for the kind words =D It's been a lot of new experiences and unexpected opportunities, but I think it's all been for the best. It's definitely shown me that getting onto the right website or Youtube channel can make a world of difference!

All the best to you too Seamus - I hope you and your family have stayed safe and healthy this year, and that you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Thanks a lot (as always!) for taking the time to write such a nice comment - I really appreciate it =)

Thank you so much for the kind words TheSneaK - it really means a lot, and as a fellow Earthbound fan, that's high praise indeed! =D

I always find scope can mean different things to different people depending on your point of reference, so probably the best way to convey this is to give you some info about the game:

- Seven playable characters
- Around 100 abilities for players to use, including Omega Bursts (Limit Break style attacks), and Combo and Trio abilities (ala Chrono Trigger).
- Approx. 12 Towns and 29 Dungeons (not counting areas that occupy a weird in-between, like the Arena or Prologue dungeon) made up of about 850 individual 'maps' (spaces in the game).
- A World Map with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, as well as an Airship.
- Lots of equipment and a flexible Augment system which allows you to alter your characters' stats and give them bonus special effects.
- Almost 100 unique enemies. As an Earthbound fan, I hope you'll like some of the weirder foes...and name puns/jokes =P
- A 78 song soundtrack
- A script the size of a novel (well over 120,000 words)

Alternatively, you could think of a Super Nintendo Final Fantasy game - or Earthbound for that matter - if you want a general comparison =)

Thankfully, we are somewhere close to wrapping up! The game's been in development for several years, and I'm going to be making sure it gets out there in 2020. So hopefully you won't have too long to wait!

Thanks again for your lovely comment, and I hope to see you again - either around release, or whenever you feel like checking in =)

P.S. If you're want to be notified when the game releases, I recommend adding it to your Wishlist on Steam. They should email you when it comes out then - if you'd like to know!

Aw Seamus, thank you so much for the lovely words! It really does mean a lot to me. Thankfully, my game doesn't have to wait much longer - we had the memorial service today and it went really well. So with that out of the way, I'm looking forward to having time to get stuck into things properly again =D

All the best to you too mate, and thanks again!

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm flattered that you follow me on Steam, and so glad you've enjoyed my past works. I think I've really come a long way with 8-Bit Adventures 2 (I finally feel like I know what I'm doing haha), so I hope you'll enjoy it even more! I'll do my best; thanks so much for taking the time to write - I sincerely appreciate it. Maybe I'll see you around the Steam community when the game comes out! =D

Thank you very much for the kind words Thread! It's great to see you again =D I'm really glad that shows through, because I think passion project is a great way to describe it; although you could probably say that about most games (at least, in the indie sphere). I've learnt you don't get very far without passion for what you're making haha XD

And that's nice of you to say about the publicity! I definitely have specific plans to try and promote the game as much as I can around the time of release, so hopefully we'll get more attention then. But, of course, there's only so much I can do by myself. Given how saturated the marketplace tends to be, I'm really reliant on word of mouth. So I'm hoping players will spread the word if they enjoy it! =)

Thanks again for commenting Thread!

Thank you very much - I'm so glad to hear you like the look of the game! Depending on how you approach it, an 8-bit aesthetic can be quite versatile (the NES colour palette is actually really vibrant), and our artist has done his best to create something special. I genuinely respect that you went out and researched my past works! I've tried very hard to go above and beyond what I've done before, and that very much includes the story and characters, so I'm hoping everyone will really enjoy it =)

Anyway, I sincerely appreciate the kind words and can't wait for you to play 8-Bit Adventures 2! Thanks again Thread =D

I dunno, there are some obscure NES games with pretty awful titles XD My intention with the title was less about the graphics and more focused on the "Adventures". Specifically, I wanted to convey the sense of an adventure made with a classic approach ("just like you remember it, but with fresh ideas!"), and I felt that some RPG-esque name like "Last Reverie" would be immediately dismissed as parody.

Truthfully, it wasn't my best idea (I was pretty new to game development when I came up with that name back in 2012), but after the first game had a moderate level of success, I was kind've stuck with it =P With that said, I have warmed up to it now, and fans just use the abbreviation of '8-Bit 2', so that's worked. Regardless, thanks for the kind words!
