I'm getting really excited for this now. If you're looking for voice actors in the future, I'd love to lend a hand.
I'd say I'm a pretty experienced HL2 player and I get through most mods on hard difficulty but I still couldn't finish this one. I got to a survival segment in a big house and I took down all the soldiers and one hunter but the other one killed me because I ran out of ammo.
I liked the way the hunter forced you to move around the area rather than just sticking in one spot which is what works best against the soldiers. Nevertheless, there just weren't enough supplies to take all of them down in my opinion, and I spent ages up to that point searching for items everywhere. On the attempt where I killed one of the hunters, I just gathered all of the healthkits into the room with the crossbow and camped in there.
My other complaint would be that you get no chance to prepare for that attack either. You hear the dropship coming as soon as you step in the building so you don't get a chance to look around and get an idea of your surroundings. A little bit more time would be cool.
Cool mod all the same. The healthkit system is welcome but the fact that you can still pick them up and move them around defeats its purpose. I'm interested to see where you go with this.
Looks cool, I can't wait to try it out.
Weird question, but does this affect the Civil Protection NPCs too?
If you need more mappers, I'd be happy to volunteer.
The woman on the right still looks ridiculous. A soldier would not have an open neck in their armour.
Do you guys need any more mappers? Also, when can we expect B3?
Are those subtitles of the character's thoughts going to be in the final game? They seem a bit redundant.
Okay, it was a bit more forgiving on my second attempt. :)
No checkpoints?! I don't think I can be bothered playing this to the end. It's unreasonably difficult.
Looks really cool, but what stops the Overlord from just placing traps on the players? Can you just drop stuff on them where they are?
Aren't those just the guys from Starship Troopers?
It looks like there's... gnome way out.
Are those models from Portal 2?
Is that glass or chickenwire? :D
Was that Vortigaunt an enemy?
Almost all of the environments were clearly copy-pasted from Half-Life 2.
I feel like a prick for criticizing this but here goes:
It feels more like someone’s hobby project than anything else. It’s visually interesting but that's pretty much where it ends; nothing feels like it’s introduced but rather dropped in front of you. The setting is introduced in a few images but it's a bit vague and it doesn't really connect to the gameplay in any way. You could just be riding around on carts in the present day and it wouldn't be any different to this weird robot cold war thing.
The NPC is really bizarre. He’s modeled and animated really well but he never DOES anything. You could omit him entirely and I reckon it wouldn't change much. In every scene, he appears, says one line of dialogue largely irrelevant to the scenario and then just stares blankly at you while you complete the puzzle. As soon as you finish it, he just says he’ll catch up and stands there after you’ve gone. I have no idea how he’s getting between the areas without doing the puzzles but I envy him for it.
The puzzles themselves are hit and miss. The main problem is that you figure out the solution in the first few seconds and then spend ages completing them. The train in the first level is painfully slow and the scene where you have to move the track along the water was so simple that it felt more like busy-work.
The only puzzle I couldn't do was the one with the pipes. I must have spent about 20 minutes on it and I couldn't do it. I confess, I had to skip past that one.
Lastly, what was up with that sequence where you had to run past all of the trains? It felt like they were desperate to inject some action into it but it was so laughably easy that there was no tension whatsoever; just standing in the doorways and waiting for the trains to trundle past so you could trot along behind them. It was kind of funny how they played rock music over it.
I really can’t recommend this. Everything feels so slow and awkward.
He looks like a cardboard cut-out.
Played this today. :/ Pretty meh.
It's cool to watch but I imagine it would be a bit annoying ingame and I probably wouldn't use it.
Excellent! This is set in the same universe as Dissolution, right? Will there be any crossover with it?
In any event, the visuals are looking excellent. Tracking.
I didn't know soldiers used Pokedexes.
I genuinely waited for that response before I started playing. I'm actually in it right now and there was a jump scare so I can't say I trust you anymore. :l
Cool trailer. Voted on Steam.
Interesting, I think I'll track this. Was the story inspired by the film Children of Men?
It looks cool but you need the occasional details to act as landmarks. Maybe add some steam coming from pipes or the odd square from the floor pulled out to break up the monotony.
It's a bit odd how a futuristic spaceship has wooden crates.
Do you still need beta testers?
