Yes, I will be trying to do so as soon as I have the time (which I'm working on making for myself and my games). First though the NetHack version requires other platforms available here too.
Unfortunately the only real route onto steam would be the "greenlight" submission system which requires a $100 (USD) registration. I can't see a free project ever being able to afford that entry requirement.
It does actually run just fine on 64bit. I personally play it on Ubuntu 12.04 x64
Hi, I'm sorry you're having trouble with sound :(
Please try the following:
* delete the entire lib2 folder
* delete everything except the "openal" libraries from the lib folder
* create, in your home directory, a file named '.openalrc' with the following content:
# Contains user settings for OpenAL
# Goes in ~/.openalrc
# Use ALSA (also valid: sdl, native)
(define devices '(alsa)')
# Four speaker surround with ALSA
(define speaker-num 2)
(define alsa-out-device "hw:0,0")
(define alsa-in-device "hw:0,0")
---
I hope this helps you.
Don't worry, they're all coming ;) -- some new ones too
It's possibly worth noting that the Desura team test our games on Ubuntu 12.04 before accepting them for publication. We had to make adjustments to Majesty at time of going live, the Desura version is actually slightly "ahead" of our own version in that way and updates will filter through to those that bought the game from us directly soon.
There's no cost, except time - and yes, a lot have people have asked (took me a bit by surprise really) and each person's key needs manual activation, so sometimes a request may take a while depending on how many we have to process.
Unfortunately no, if it's a DRM free version then we can't activate it on Desura since all that is controlled by keys. We've had a significant amount of people ask for DRM free games though and Cold War is one such title that never got our key/registration system so we're trying it out on Desura and seeing how that goes.
Yes :) You can expect our entire catalogue to appear over time.
Please see the following blog post:
Hi, our company only does Linux ports of games, so any games we add to Desura will, by that very nature, only be for Linux. You would have to speak with the publishers and/or developers of the original Windows version if you'd like to see them add their game here as well.
Unfortunately we in fact have recently dropped the price. Last month, before coming to Desura this game was selling (and being bought) at it's original price of $40. The unfortunate reality is that games for Linux simply do cost more, and this isn't a whole lot more.
If you're curious about why, feel free to read Michael's blog post on or company blog from a few years back.
Sorry jamesbuc,
This is only for the Linux versions of the game that have been bought previously.
OK. This system has been tested and we can do it for you. If you would like to have access to your previous LGP purchase on Desura please send an email to support@linuxgamepublishing.com asking for a desura invite. Make sure you send from the email address you registered the game with as your desura invite will be sent back to that same email address.
It's possibly worth noting that the reverse is already true. If you bought it on Desura, you can also download it through LGP's systems if for any reason you are unable to do so through Desura as it's using standard LGP keys.
This should be possible soon, I'm actively looking into it.
Yes, the rest will be coming ... and yes it's related to me taking over ;)
Hello, I will be adding the Linux version as well. It's just a little more complicated so I started with Windows. It will come :) So too will the Slash'EM and UnNetHack engines for all.
Coming soon. It's a bit more complicated to package, but it's on it's way ;)
It works with Slash'EM and UnNetHack as well, I'll be adding those to Desura soon.
