I would like to release a patch sometime, I have a few things fixed right now. If people are still interested I could release something down the line.

I'm considering re-adding it.

Before we started DE, it was originally a Dawn of the Dead mod.. those were some fun times.

It never got finished. It would have taken ages to get it working, even with a bigger sized team, which we had at the time.

Any feedback is most welcome. Already have a ton of changes in mind for a future patch just from things people have been recommending.

Thanks. Yeah the final boss battle was suppose to be more intense, like after you killed him he would fall into a pit of zombie goo, and turn into this weird monster.. but we never had the resources to finish it up. The prototype we had a few years ago was pretty fun though. :P

Without spoiling anything, the gas puddle near the door is the "key".

Still investigating some of the saving and crashing issues some people are experiencing, I'll make a post when I find some solutions. Thanks for being patient while we get this straightened out!

Go into the DE system folder, and double click on "v7core.bat" then try again, if that doesn't work, double click "xpcore.bat" and try again.

What OS do you have, and do you have the Land of the Dead V1.1 patch installed?

Try opening the console by pressing tilde (`), and typing "open MainMenu" without quotes, and see if that works.

Make sure theres a folder called Saves in your DE directory.

The first 6 maps will be released. Depending on the feedback we get after that, we might finish it. I don't know at this point.

But we did get DE working on Vista/Windows 7 so that's a really good start.

It won't be named LOTD X-4, I just compared it to another mod for LOTD.

I have no idea about a release date for it. As you all know I'm horrible with release dates. :)

DE uses it's own directory, therefor it has problems on newer operating systems. Good news is we're on a verge of a fix so hopefully that won't be an issue anymore.

What people do not understand is almost the entire team gave up, and I was the only one working. I didn't have a scripter anymore since he gave up for whatever reasons (no comment :/), and I can't script at all. Only 5 out of the 14 maps were ready to be released, and they were in somewhat poor condition.

People will always slander LOTD.. it's a dead game. There's only a few people still playing multiplayer these days, and it's almost impossible to find.

I loved working on DE, and it's hard to not release years of work... Maybe if we still had the 4-6 team members we had a few years ago it would be a different story...

With that said, if I can't get DE working on any operating system higher than XP, no, it won't ever be finished. Even if I do, it still won't be the same mod. But that doesn't mean I won't release some of the content that we've created.

Hehe, well you're not the first one to say it. When I asked for the model I remember saying "M16". But oh well.

We didn't have a proper model at the time so it was being used as a place holder.

I'd rather work on the mod than release updates.
