Guys, I've been watching this mod since it was initiated. IT IS NOT COMING OUT. Honestly I feel bad for the people who didn't figure that out years ago, and I hope I can change your mind. Obviously their site in terms of project-related updates has been completely stagnant for almost two years now, along with the wiki and Youtube page they said would be regularly updated. Therefore, it's pretty safe to assume they have no new content to display. The way I see it, the devs probably just spent a couple years making some good material for their portfolios, then shut it down when it got too large a following. Understandable, but now years later the mod is still taking the spotlight from others who are deserving. Call me a troll, deny all you want, but in the end the other members of ModDB have the right to avoid competition with dead projects. Just saying, it's getting pathetic

lmao im surprised this is still up. sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but this mod has no chance of ever being completed. i lack modding experience beyond crysis, and i was young/foolish back when this mod was registered. frontlines has gone the way of Black Mesa, pretending to be in development but in the end trapped in a perpetual state of incompletion. go support MERP, a fantastic take on the LOTR universe that I can't wait to play

That's the driving force behind my argument. There really is no reason to have not released anything for this long. None whatsoever. The only reasonable explanation is that there is nothing new to release. The mod is dead. End of story

Well calling me a troll is implying that what I'm saying isn't true. But you all know as well as I do that this mod has to be dead. No matter what hope you have, or whatever feeble attempt you make at proving me wrong with what is most definitely false statements from the "devs," the facts state that the real trolls here are the members of the Black Mesa Development team. I've been following this mod since the beginning, and have become even more and more excited. I even designed and made my own case for the game, and was patiently awaiting the day when i could place a cd containing this "masterpiece" in it. But I am now positive, after years of waiting, that this entire mod is a lie. I know many of you will disagree out of a misplaced sense of loyalty to a team of liars and cons, but I'm just trying to save you from the disappointment I experienced. This mod will never be released. It is a sham, and development of anything resembling the game you wanted to play is dead. Move on, and don't let these people get the satisfaction they're looking for. I'm sorry it came to this, but you're welcome for revealing the truth.

Guys, I think it is time to break this sad but painfully obvious news to you: Black Mesa Source is a joke. As upsetting as that is, look at the facts. While it may have begun as a real mod with goals for release, which would explain the screenshots, they have not had a new media release in over a year. Any releases that have been seen have been of OLD MATERIAL. The only real explanation of that since they aren't against releasing material is that there is NO NEW MATERIAL TO RELEASE. Production of the mod probably seized long ago, and the team is just too lazy and busy with their lives to notify anyone. And those who are left behind maintaining the site are simply trolling the fanbase for their own enjoyment. Why else would they promise a "break in silence" right when people began to lose interest, and then not follow through? I've been a loyal fan for years, and I find it as hard to believe, but it is undeniably true. No matter what anyone tells you, especially the so called "devs," this mod is dead, and we have all been trolled so hard it's unbelievable. Goodnight everyone, happy New Year, and rest easy knowing you've all been lied to.

they aren't tumbleweeds, they're ashes raining down from the surrounding volcanoes. which leaves me shocked by the attention to detail here. i love u guys! one thing though, if those explosions are supposed to be volcano eruptions, they dont look all tht realistic. you might want to fix the particle effect a bit. make it more life-like i guess. otherwise perfect jon! cant wait to play

i dont see what the big deal is. the cryengine 2 is easily capable of this and more. This is cryengine for consoles, and thats it. no improvements, nuthin that we cant already do. And i'm tellin u guys now, no matter what they say, they will have to remove some features to make it console-compatible. consoles just are nowhere near as powerful as a computer is.

hey guys quick question. is this optional? like if you're driving a mech and get close to an enemy, you can still lock on right? you don't have to have someone with a tag laser near by, its just a long range teamwork option, right? I love it, but it'd be frustrating to see your enemy and miss because theres noone near to guide the missiles.

@psykogundam: PC gaming is far from dying. The only thing that is holding the PC gaming market back right now is piracy, which noone can seem to find a reasonable solution for.

@everyone else: The way this is looking, the CryEngine 3 is simply a way for Crytek to jump into the console market as well as the PC market, because piracy absolutely killed Crysis. If it had sold half as many copies as were pirated, it would have been one of the greatest selling games ever. What exactly does this mean? Well for one, it is now almost a guarantee that all Crytek's major games (basically only Crysis heh) will be multi-platform, as opposed to Crysis and Warhead being PC-only. Second, I really don't think much will change for us PC users. For those with lower-end PCs, you will probably experience better FPS with CE3 titles. Higher-end users really won't notice any difference I don't think. Not many new features are being added other then performance optimizations. Sorry guys, but this isn't a new computer-dominator. It's Cryengine 2 post-diet. The extra weight is gone, so now it's free to run without bringing your computer to its knees, or causing consoles to spontaneously combust.
