i recommend as a complete finishing touch to also use FF7 Music found here Forums.qhimm.com

the reason is the squaresoft pc versions all have poor midi type music which is worse than the ps1 version.

with this mod it will silence the music when it has one to replace it so you will hear the replaced version.

you can eather use the ps1 version or Remastered OST which is an instrumental version(but you have to download it separate from here as servers broken Rapidshare.com)

on windows vista, win7 and i think probability win8 you will need to do this AFTER YOU HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTALLATION GUIDE:-

1) go to C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\Driver Key Mod Pack

2) right click on the one you need to use go to edit

3) try below if you are on window vista or above

4) copy and paste below over the old hkey

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII]

5) it should now look similar to this

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Modify the "DataDrive" value to point to your virtual CD / DVD ROM drive, for example "f:".

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII]
"DataDrive"="G:"

6) mount the image as it says in read-me and your finished
