how does one get added to the discord group so you can ask question and such? I just get the red circle with slash and the text states I do not have permissions on the "Lordz NTW3" server.

BTW I have been looking but haven't found what in the 9.3 update. Is there a fix or features list?

I was able to install the game, by FIRST making sure that I had the vanilla version of NTW loaded. Then I installed the patch 9.3 and launched the game via steam. It showed the 9.3 splash screen, but didn't have all the features, so I re-ran the installer to set back to vanilla, then again installed 9.3 for the 1805 campaign and then all the files were there. Might be a steam sync issue.

MS Defender doesn't think that it is a virus. The Browser maybe doesn't trust the file. If you see three dots (...) near the name in the download folder in the browser you can tell it to keep the file.

If you have downloaded the file, then click on the <More Info> and you can "Run anyway" - Defender doesn't like the app not being "signed" by a publisher.

If you are concerned then right click on the file and select "Scan with Microsoft Defender" mine came up clean with 0 threats found.

I can even battle the Swedish Navy and not have it crash NTW!

Might check the logs on your system - if it just disappears it could be a corrupted install file. - I'd re-download and just sum to see if they are identical, if not then re-install with the new file(s).

I'd re-download all three and compare them.

It all worked for me on two systems. Core first, campaign, and maps worked for me in that order.

So I installed MS Visual Studio so I could read the dump file(s).

First item that I noticed is if I keep VS up with the log file then games that used to blow up kept running past the part where I normally would get crashes with the C000005 code. So playing as a MAJOR country works for me If I can push the game into a higher memory range. Meaning run the OS, normal daily apps then MS VS, and THEN Steam and NTW.

Second issue with Sweden though is a total fail regardless. Play as Sweden and immediately declare war on Denmark and 2nd move do a manual battle vs the Dan Navy and it crashes with the C000005 : "The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."

And I just re-installed the v8.9 hotfix from 27/12/2020 - and now the game is even worse - it just crashes from the start of Campaigns of the Coalition. Tried as Sweden and Prussia.

DEBUG: sanity check. V8.9 play as Sweden - first turn declare war on Denmark, then "manually" attack their fleet with your 5 ships and for me the game crashes each and EVERYTIME. I have the crash files is that helps.

So sounds like we have the same issue.

Oh and one major "bug" in in a battle if you click on a area in the map you are now way under the playing level and have to try and use the scroll bar to get back up above the ground to place the troops. This is not a very useful feature unless we can set mines and subterranean trenches... :)

So I am a bit confused. So far I enjoyed it a lot. But where is the description file that explains the mods. For example as Russia I cannot attack the Ottomans?? I cannot heal troops in allied lands??? I cannot recruit troops in other than original Russia territories??? I downloaded the 5x 8.7 files and then ran the 8.8 and 8.9 updates, and in non of them do they have files FAQ or a help for a clue other than stumbling about.

Other than that I do like it. It is a bit fresh air to this game.

for the past two days I get "Network error" when trying to download the patch from mirror #1 and #2 -- #7 worked

Well after some testing I resolved to go back to the steam baseline of the definitive edition and then just installed 8.3 core -- and all the text starts missing from there. And gets worse if I install 8.5 after that.

So to install this "patch" do we uninstall 8.4 first??

I just downloaded 8.5 and it has a few issues.

- The interface now has you chose between classic and hardcore without knowing what is what.

- The Coalition Campaign interface for the maps only allows for Austria, England, Prussia, and Russia. Maps look very Jr High school as apposed to the older maps.

- The Start button seems to be clumsy, had to click about it several times for it to select a campaign. Had to let it slightly change color and then click.

- Starting as Prussia the missions are all blank texts. But it does show me the reward amount. Do you need more testers?

I had 8.4 patch installed -- does that need to be backed out??

try and start at autosave again, but doing another move -- anything -- sometimes that gets it thru the "bug" -- in IT terms the memory addresses should have shifted if more heap was allocated to a move. Does't always work, but does for me sometimes.

So what is the thought process on this? then the Victory mark for these countries should just keep the main capitol and that is it?? If these countries opted for expansion they would SURELY build and train more troops. This is a true detriment to the game which also make no sense. I also enjoy the mod and its updates, but with the "fixes" like this it makes the game less fun to play.

It is like playing chess against an opponent with all 16 pieces but we are limited to a king and a pawn; why would you do that????

Please fix the game so it makes sense. Sweden can only create less-than two stacks of infantry?? I have Captured Ceylon and I can only recruit Generals and cannons!! I captured Prussia and can only recruit Generals! Sweden doesn't even have access to militia?? I am left to create stacks of Generals as cavalry fodder units to go off and die until I can ship infantry here and there as needed? There is challenging and then there is non-sense programming. Troops should be based off of population growth and income! Get rid of these ridiculous limits, or make it an option at setup. Cheers!

I do love these mods, but one item has always bothered me. I normally play looking for historical accuracy and understanding of the period. With that said, once a country defeats the other country, why do they forget the tech or scholarly achievements. I find it very hard to believe everyone goes brain damaged and forgets everything.

It could be way out of scope for what is possible in this game.

I have 8.3 core full installed and working. When I try to install this 8.4 I keep getting the error "Napoleon.exe does not seem to be installed in that folder."

My solution is that once I select the folder via Browse I have to remove the "second" Napoleon Total War it seems to be repeated via the tool.

Sorry I was offline for a bit. Where do I find these files? I seem to trip over the patches but not the main files. Also does this include updates for the Indian subcontinent as well. I always thought it silly that as time goes son their tech just drops off.

A question -- in order to use your Imperial Spender mod all I need is one file: RotR_1.1.9b_-_Patch_3.zip? Darth mod and other are much larger files.

I enjoy the older games I just wish that TW would have kept them up.
