Make sure that this is the type of game you want to play before you purchase it. It is a flash game with bad graphics and UI(looks like a 1993 game) and pokemon style combat, and is more choose your own adventure than anything else. It's quite difficult as well, and has permadeath. If you die your save is deleted. Monsters attack you constantly when it's a hassle just finding food, unless you waste one of your 4 trait slots. I died 5 times, the 5th try I made it to "The Glow" but in order to get in you have to do a quest for the only NPC I ever encountered with dialogue in the game that sends you halfway across the map, I didn't make it back because I starved to death, if I looted I alerted dogmen, if I didn't there was no way for me to get food.

The engine is called "Flixel" it is completely free for them to use so it doesn't make sense that they need to charge for an alpha game.
