Yes you can. In the 2.5 assist client, under game settings. Click 'edit armyops.ini'. Find [Engine.Engine] and where is says RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRender replace it with DeviceRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice and the client will run in openGL. For future reference please ask in the 25assist forums.
