Sorry but look for elephant parametrs in inet! You will be surprised! its armor EXTEREMLY weak at the boyh sides and roof! There were no armour from the behind! it was a really easy target for infantry, i'am even not talking about T-34! by the way you said about ratio 1to10? so easy to calculate! There were 150 - 200 machines of this type under Kursk! so at your logic we lost 1500 - 2000 of our tanks! BUT 1089 - it's all we have(in this sector) during the CITADEL operation! And remainig stuff captured my town Kharkiv 23 of august 1943! We can't lose so much tanks because during the battle of Kursk we were having lower number! Sure! Our officer were not poor! Those who survived were unexpirienced! Problem is that we thought that germans will never attack! They were to weak for this! We have better ammo tanks equipment and soldiers! it's all lost at night of 22 june! We planned to attack western europe/ so army, that is planning to offense can't diffence! Jerry striked when our tanks were unfueled,unarmed! When our infantry was sleeping. our planes were standing on the airfields! WING TO WING! think about it! If you want to attack (even in coh) you will place your supply lines as closer to the enemy as possible! To save injured soldiers, repair tanks, quickly sent reinforcement! Right? On 22 of june on russian border were 4.5 million sovet soldiers nearly 20 thousand of tanks including 667 KV and 1400 t- 34 (at the moment that's a best tanks of the war! until 42!) nearly than 15000 planes! it was the best army ever seen the world! Imagine! You playing for britian(for example) you have 6 sections of infantry 2 cromwell 2 butterfly etc! you place your forces close to a breakpoint and then( holly ****!) jerry strikes you buy a artillery barrage! And so! You were having a good powered forces! so what! they all dead! and now your base can be destroyed by 2 pumas and 3-4 squads of volkgrenadiers!
