Prologue

Sam could barely se
through the rain, his team had been posted on the great wall new york, the only
thing keeping the city away from those things that one were family, partners,
collages thugs you name it. The rain was getting heavier as Sam wiped his visor
with his glove. Sam kept thinking he saw them scurrying around the shadows
trying to keep out of the spot lights but he was sure it was just a fragment of
his imagination.

“ INFECTED, LOCK N
LOAD” a voice screamed from further down the wall.

Sam looked down to
were the spot light was placing its beams on apartment building when all of a
the sudden a grotesque beast tore a piece of the wall of from in side and
lobbed it at a pore, pore fellow literally smashing his bones to jelly and
spraying him against a guard tower and all over his comrades. Sam and his
entire team stood there shocked for they had never seen a infected being turn
out like this, perhaps it had mutated? It leaped up on to the wall and started
to crush skulls of marines and throw bodies down into the quarantine zone.

“get some damn 50cals
on that ass hole” Sam yelled out in despair.

As soon as Sam ordered
this two hummerVs rolled up below and started to place heavy fire on the beast
but it did not care the holes in its torso seemed to just melt together again.

“Game over man Game
over! The brass is sending a AC-130 to take care of the son of a bitch, we got
to bounce sarg!” said private Lewis.

Sam turned towards
what used to be the statue of liberty to see 3 jets fly coming in hot. Before he
knew it there was a pattern of red flares dropped on the wall by the jets and
all Sam herd was the loud crack of 500mm rounds being shot by Vulcan auto
canons. The last thing Sam remembered was flying backwards of the wall, feeling
like something was broken, private Lewis dragging him to somewhere and
explaining the thing was dead but there was hundreds more inside the zone and
that we had just blown up the wall releasing more than half a million infected
into safe new york…

Sam woke up dripping
with sweat on the floor entangled with sheets, it was ok it was just a
nightmare of the past, he looked up to se Lewis standing in the hallway with
some canned peas.

“Bad dreams again?,
oh well, you want some peas? Is the last can” Lewis asked in a tyred voice.

“ yea bad dreams of
the dark day again, and nuh ill have some of the oat meal we found who cares if
it had a few mice living in it?” Sam said getting up of the floor slowly.

They walked into the
kitchen in single file, the room was a golden yellow, a pleasant change from
the cold winter.

“ was there any
problems last night? Any sightings? “Sam asked as he started to boil water for
his morning coffee.

“ah you know just a
few level 1 infected walking around running after rats, the unusual” Lewis
replied as he shoved some warm peas in his mouth.

“ I think I sighted
some deer up the street this morning thin k I might get us some meet to salt ya
want to come?” Lewis asked as he finished his peas.

“Yea sure I need to
get some practise with the bow anyway guns have been attracting to many
infected lately its like its getting worse, I think I saw a helicopter
yesterday, probably just another dark ops team like we were back in the day”
Sam replied sipping his coffee as he looked deeply out the window.
