Report RSS Axone's devblog: Fleet Arena

Posted by on

Welcome à bord,
This is the Axone, a vessel of science-fiction in an entropic universe.
We are a small team of game developers devout in our pursuit of our art but hidden from all.
This is why, today, we are proud to initiate our devblog on Indiedb (Thank you guys!).

Let's jump in!

Fleet Arena

This pc game is set to be a turn based space strategy ARENA where two players craft their own fleet and tear each other... INTO PIECES!

We made ourselves ready by working from home to school since 2016. All this time, we've been learning unity to the point where in last mars, we engaged warp 1.

Slowly crafting each ship, layer by layer, were growing three fleets day by day. Meanwhile, the game's mechanics got unraveled within two prototype. Seeing this, our estimations were setting us at Warp 3... maybe 4.

And then we kept going, working our arts like a second job but with all the passion of a first one. Focusing our effort on the kickstarter video we succeed at creating a first 30 seconds KickTeaser. This is where we sat and said... hell... it's time for warp 6!

Meanwhile, our programmer was building the game from the ground up using unity and a whole heck of sleepless nights.

Warp 8, engage! This 1st December, we are getting into our own local (!YAY!). With that we are set on course toward our first goal; selling our game on kickstarter. We hope, that this will make us into a standing Indie studio.

To accomplish this,
We need you guys!

The game mechanics

Fleet Arena is going to play within the realm of initiatives. Each ship has its own initiatives roll and thus there's no ''first player advantage'' since faster will often play first... but will lack the punch of bigger ones. Such mechanics assure intense PVP within the delta of randomness.

The board game is hex based, which leads to greater mobility than traditional square tiles. This reflects the vast nature of space. It also permits us to align the ships for many purposes such as special abilities and shield orientation and further more...

Every ships will have its own sets of tools and roles. Within the limit of their skills, you'll have to schematize the fleet and optimize your formation for the battle. Loads of hazardous maps will make sure you'll think about your plans while sleeping. ;)

The Axone team bet you'll love it.
If you have any question etdashu comment it will be a pleasure to receive them!
See you admirals!
