AP has ships and stations made for XTC included in it. ;)

@ anakin2505: This will not work with AP, nor will we be making it compatible, sorry.
@ .JAS: you have a bad installation.
@ Blackjanek: Uninstall TC and delete it's folders, then reinstall a vanilla version of the game.
I will add it to the new summary that will be added for 2.0. :)
A lot of the lore is explained in the manual. You did read the manual I assume? :P
There is also more information available here: Thexuniverse.com
And yeah, with the games engine only being single threaded it was not possible to add all the stuff we wanted plus extra sectors without bringing the game to a grinding halt. So we decided to start from scratch. :)
Version 3.1 for the DVD release and 3.1 or 3.1.1 for the steam release.
The latest performance patch now fixes the issue with steam installs.
The latest performance hotfix includes a script to allow the latest steam version to work with XTC. ;)
No plots are enabled in 1.2. It's a 'sandbox play' environment only atm.
No plans for cockpit mods, and I can't comment on which is better or worse as I don't use them. :)
Been a long time since I looked at the ships in any detail so not 100% sure, but it is the Teladi M2 or M2+, just can't remember which off the top of my head.
We have found out how to block the changes the steam patch makes. See here for info: Thexuniverse.com
Unfortunately there is no way to correct the damage the patch does if it has already occurred.
2.0 will include this block from the start so it shouldn't be an issue at that point.
Sorry, I don't check the old mod very often as I am working on the Terran Conflict one now.
Unfortunately XTM has had issues with steam installs for some people and not for others, so there is not a definitive answer to that question.
Both the mod and the game were not originally designed to work with steam as it wasn't about when the mod began way back when, or when the game was released. We tried to figure out what the problem was by getting people to list their hardware, install locations, etc to see if there was a common denominator, but it seemed to happen randomly and we couldn't trace the cause.
In theory it should work, but in practice it is just a case of trying it out on your system to find out whether it will.
You're welcome. *Bows*
Sorry for the delay in replying. I'd forgotten to check back for your link.
No that was a separate bug and was already fixed in 1.2. :)
Well don't let us stop you. ;)
I have been away for a couple of days and am not aware of this issue yet, can you link me to it please?

Yes, we are now working on out next major release, 2.0. ;)
It is in beta testing, so soon now.
There is no Sol system as it is a completely new map in a completely new area of the universe. I suggest you read the manual to understand what is going on. :)
Glad you figured it out. :)
Yes, different engine colours and smoke trails per race. This was a dev shot of the different colours plus the new engine flame effects themselves.
Uninstall XTC, install the 3.1 patch for TC, reinstall XTC to a new empty folder on your desktop. Renumber the cat/dat sets so they are all one number higher, copy the files from the folder on your desktop to your updated (3.1 patched) TC folder.
However while we have not heard of any problems while using XTC with 3.1, we cannot guarantee there isn't anything wrong before we release the 1.2 patch. ;)
Additionally, there will be no easy way to uninstall XTC from the game using this method due to the files being installed manually.
It would mean importing each scene file in 3ds MAX 9 or later and moving the position of the main cockpit camera, then exporting the file again.
There isn't enough room here and nor do I have the time currently to give you a more in-depth description atm. Try looking on the Egosoft forums if you are really interested, there are plenty of tutorials there.
Look for pirate bases. IIRC this should be fixed in 1.2.
Yes we will update the mod for 3.1. It will be updated with the next patch (1.2). ;)
Make sure when you buy a CCK that it is an Argon one. The other race ones are not working atm and will be fixed in 1.2.
We made the different CCK's owned by the race they are sold by, unfortunately the engine won't use them correctly if they are set to any race but Argon, so we have had to swap the race ownership back for 1.2.
Unlikely as it would mean editing every single ships scene file separately. This is a lot of work, and we have more interesting things to be working on atm. ^^
