Here's hoping someone else does something similar or a faction warfare feature gets added into Call of Chernobyl itself.

What's going to happen to the original traders now that faction traders are in? It's kind of odd being Military and seeing neutral Clear Sky guys wondering around in the Hidden Base under the Trader faction, some of which still stand at the trading posts instead of Military members.

Factions keep last base makes it so the faction keeps final base, it's not on a per map/zone/area basis. For example you can drive bandits out of all the zones but the final base they own cannot be captured.

As for the Military spawning in weird places you've already taken, that may be the faction resurgence feature. Every faction has a chance (specified in the settings) to regroup after losing all of their locations, once they regroup they will launch an attack on a base in a random zone in an attempt to regain a foothold.

Resource points influence the squads that spawn for the faction that controls them, the higher the resources, the better the squads that spawn. Basically makes more Advanced and Veteran squads spawn when you control more resources.

I believe Werejew will have patrol squads using Lair/Territory points when they're implemented back into Warfare. As for the disappearing squads I believe that's the squad cleanup system removing those squads to prevent the not enough ID's error.

It's part of the most recent build, you right click on any owned base and you get 3 options, buy novice squad, advanced squad or veteran squad.

Allied bases seem to keep targeting the same location until the invasion is sent off, even if that location has been taken by their faction by another assault.

Is there a way to make the squads you buy from a friendly point get automatically added as companions or at least make the follow distance a little further back? The squad leaders that you buy seem to know very little about personal space and also love to shove you when you're standing still, particularly when standing near irradiated water or anomalies. That is until you officially ask them to be your companion(s), then they choose to behave... Most of the time.

Played about an hour on the new version as clear sky, the attack build up seems to be working, there are excess squads spawning and eventually being offloaded when the number required for the invasion is reached.

Though I've noticed something when taking a base from the enemy. If that base was targeting one of your factions locations it will continue to do so after being taken until the invasion is sent, then it will re-target and enemy base/territory. It's not really an issue since the squads sent to invade an allied base are just added to that bases overflow squads and are sent in the next invasion wave.

Word of warning, that count also applies to mutant spawns, so don't be surprised to come across 5-6 Bloodsuckers.

Warfare disables the helicopters, though I believe Werejew has plans to add his own system regarding faction squads calling in helicopter support.

It may be because factions now build up to attacks, so they gather a number of squads at a location then send them off once they have sufficient numbers. So if your seeing excess squads at bases, that's why.

The new resurgence coupled with the build up sounds great, can't wait to see it in action.

I think Werejew did have something like that in mind for when he begins to implement tasks for the player into Warfare. Currently you get paid by kills on the enemy faction, the amount depends on the rank of the person you killed.

You do make a point about the traders, however the factions are based in the zone so I assume resources wouldn't be plentiful enough to just be giving stuff away, gotta earn what you get.

Werejew, would it be possible for a faction to sort of build up to an attack? By that I mean they start gathering squads at a location and once they have sufficient squads to possibly take a point they send them to attack the target? Sort of like a wave based system, one attack fails they build up another one then send it off.

Well, that colour scheme would be my pick since it does have the identity of the factions matched to a logical colour.

Good things come to those who wait... But as you know, some can wait longer than others.

I just hope that if Werejew were to find himself unable to develop Warfare further, he allows TeamEPIC or someone else to take over development.

It would be a shame to see an addon such as Warfare become one of those out of date addons as it adds so much to CoC.

Yeah, damn it Santa! All we wanted for Christmas is Warfare and you can't even give us that!

All jokes aside, I assume Werejew would be visiting family and friends as many of us would be doing over the Christmas period.

I expect it to be rather hard for Werejew to provide updates be it through comments or actual updates to the addon itself considering he's only a few weeks into a new job. He's probably committed majority of his time to that which is understandable since you want to make a good impression in a new workplace. Just give it time, you'll get a new version of Warfare eventually, just have to be patient.

I've noticed that with two in Great Swamp. mar_smart_terrain_doc and mar_smart_terrain_doc2 can't be captured no matter how many squads rock up to do so. The squads also have trouble path finding their way there since the ones sent there don't move until they are put into 'offline' mode when the player is out of range.

That option used to be for the old Warfare control menu, the player could call a squad to cap an objective, you could set the cooldown of it so it couldn't be spammed through that option. I'm not certain but it may be obsolete now that Werejew has his new faction control system partially implemented.

Disregard, I just tested this, it helps but you still get squads spawning on the objective while you're attacking it.

What's your min_respawn_time in the Warefare options for each faction set to? if it's something like 5 then yeah... That'll be why.

I prefer the new targeting system to be honest, I feel like it helps make the zone feel more alive. Especially since factions are spread across multiple levels, it would be weird to have part of your faction that resides in Cordon sitting there doing nothing while the ones in Zaton are actively attacking targets.

Another thing I've noticed is that the Warfare options seem to revert to their default values, even when you edit the file itself rather than through the in-game menu.

If you right click on any owned territory you get a few options that pop up, if you right click on any uncaptured or enemy territory you get some options to target it and add influence to it. Adding influence doesn't do much except influence faction targeting and the likelihood it will be the target.

If you have an uncaptured or enemy territory targeted when you right click on one of your territories some new options should show up, target selected territory which will make that friendly territory start sending squads to your target as they spawn. The other option is send squad to targeted territory which is pretty self explanatory. You can also right click squads on the PDA map for a few options, one being move to target location which sends them to whatever territory you have targeted at the time.

Good news Werejew, Clear Sky decided they wanted to own their base instead of giving it over to the Loners/Stalkers and they actually shoot the dog instead of standing there and letting it rip them to pieces.
