I have to say that in all honesty that's a crappy HUD. I was hoping for something that might, you know look vaguley like what a spacemarine helmet would have for it's HUD, not just some cheap looking blue bars.
Of course you have to work within the limitations of the engine, Also how are you going to handle things like fighters? will strike craft be constantly moving or will they hover in midair? Also, in homeworld 2 craft point in the direction they are flying, how is this going to work with airships? A zeplin pointing upward on a steep climb seems a bit...odd. Will these be things you will be able to work around?
I hope that unlike native weapons of the battlefield series these anti aircraft weapons will have remotley reliable tracking capability.
Like people said before, This will likley get slapped with a cease and desist order, wether or not you pose competittion it's generally rude and also against international copyright law to use other peoples intellecual property, regisered trademarks and copyrights without asking.
Get permission or don't waste your time making a mod, because if it looks anything like people are going to play it microsoft will see it never makes release.
This mod is great, with a bit more polish It will be fantastic.
The concept of this mod reminds me of Last exile, which is nice. I have to wonder, when large Craft are destroyed are their flaming hulks going to "sink"?
i feel sure those lasers werent lasers and were in fact meant to be bullets, you can tell by the way that they arent anything like lasers, see how they ricochet when they hit surfaces, lasers wouldnt do that, also lasers tend to be light and as such travel at the speed of light, the projectiles in this are clearly not moving at the speed of light or even anything near it. im not sure what they are meant to be exactly, like i said they could be physical projectiles or something else, but they sure as hell arent lasers.
that aside the Demo looks pretty good and i cant wait to see more.

This mod is looking pretty awsome, but i have to wonder if the weapons will function As per the 40k tabletop games, it really anoys me to see Boltguns being portrayed as machine guns when in fact they are more like semiautomatic 20mm grenade launchers, and however you handle the Various nid beetle launchers it will sureley be interesting.
What i meant is the game sounds exactly the same bar a planetary engine as well as a space one and the lack of a skill system and procedural things.
No distinct Favour towards any one particular game profession, massive persistant universe, disconnection from earth. the storyline and such are completley different but in essence it seems almost identical. but seeing as infinity is unreleased i suppose i cant make a direct comparison.

hey a patch, shame it dosent fix that horribly annoying Command crash.
okay then, so i downloaded this and thought "this looks like fun, cant wait to play it." i truned down my standard settings a bit, put it on the 1024x768 setting (because that is the minimum or so i am told) i joined a 10 player server and OH DEAR GOD THE LAG, now i have neither an awsome computer nor a really fast connection, but for the love of god the lag is the worst lag i have encountered in any game i have ever played! and i regually play Bf2!!
Needs Moar optimisation.
Some sort of hovering robotic brain? looks like a pilot class to me.
