I also have dynamic IP and I just downloaded the Mod (again) to test it with DL-Manager.
DL-time needed = 10 minutes

maybe its just something who rips off your ship, if you get too close to it. or something you have to bribe with alien-pods, for not getting killed by it. Who knows. And since OP is not telling anything about (which is good) we will have to wait and going to find out ourself, when the time has come.
