i think it was the natural regen rather than the artifacts, should be fixed in 1.1
im looking into it, you're both right its an issue. psy storms mess with light stuff and im guessing the values get overwritten by a script or config file i haven't edited to contain the same values from the mod.

i noticed the base file for this mod is out of date so i made a pastebin with an updated file that enables the binocular vision: Pastebin.com from a newly unpacked file the lines to edit are 54 and 55, set the color to 0.7,0.7,0.7,1.0 and speed to 4
i used the same value for the light radius that i did for the headlamp when it should be 10 less or so. i'll submit a new one in a bit with the change
yes, it adds an extra digit to everything. by default even with the power usage set to lowest my batteries seem to die in minutes.
you dont need them to use the mod, just drop the file in db\addons. if you want to make your own you have to unpack them first using db_unpacker.bat in the tools directory. it'll create a _unpacked directory with all the unedited files
it likely edits the same file so probably conflicts. i'll add a 4x version for you

it changes wound_immunity for the box itself which corresponds to damage received by melee attacks, just high enough that it takes 1 hit to kill by the worst knife, so no adjustment to the health of the boxes or changes to knives. the paper box is a cardboard box, i can take a screen when i see one in game next, they're kind of rare compared to the others.
