Only issue I have with how the plasma is depicted is that just about every artwork has them firing just like lascannons.

Plasma IRL is usually between green and purple on the visible light spectrum - the most well-known occurences of it (lightning, the Auroras, St. Elmo's Fire) range from deep violet to a bright, neon green.

Although in this particular picture it would be terrible for contrast, a good many models have green plasma cells... look at the Ultramarines models in codexes/WD, their plasma cells are usually green or a lightning white-blue colour
