That's probably not the only thing hes accidentally firing.
Seriously, did the artist intentionally draw the laser shooting out of the lasgun while the Guardsman is running and not actively using his weapon, or is there also a laser pointer built into the weapon's muzzle?
fools, the laser pointer IS the weapon, just, when it fires, a bigger burst is used, that is for aiming reference, because guardsmen don't have time for iron sights!
