I'm a little confused why are they using Gauss weaponry did they some how reverse engineer it, or is that not the same gauss weaponry as what the necrons use
It's not a gauss cannon, its a grav cannon. I also didn't know that at first, doesn't help that the effect looks similar in this picture
Grav weapons are the Space Marines' new giant middle finger to everything with good armor. New type of weapons that got introduced last Codex.
They're not really new in terms of lore though since they were used by the majority of Space marine legions during the Horus Heresy.

Grav guns have been around since Rogue Trader haven't they?
thay look like salamanders but i see no fire must be some alpha legion spys. And aren't grav weapons one of lest common guns, to the point where a chapter may have 2-4 at best?
