A group for Fans of HG Wells classic SciFi series War of the Worlds. Since the original WOTW Novel, War of the worlds had many new retellings such as the 1953 WOTW movie or Jeff Wayne rendition. It also established SciFi tropes like Tripods, Heatrays, and Alien invasion stories. Feel free to join if you enjoy War of the Worlds or other HG Wells stories!
Edisons Conquest of mars was an "unathorized" sequal to HG Wells War of the Worlds novel released in 1898. It picks up months after the WOTW novel with Thomas Edison reverse engineering the Martian tech and managing to produce space ships and disintegrater rays. Using this tech, a military force is sent to Mars to attack and destroy it as revenge for the Martian invasion of Earth. The martians here are more humanoid and use the tripods seen in the 1898 rendition of WOTW.
