I loved the Cruz and Rubio tag-team, and I was especially surprised at Rubio's performance. He and Cruz were relentless against Trump, and frankly it's about time they stopped tearing at each other's throats and focused on trying to surpass the one guy they really should have been going at the whole time. They went their hardest at exposing Trump's record, his flip-floppity inconsistancies on issues, his lying, and it was great to see Trump, for once, being on the defensive against the other candidates. And I think they did an excellent job showing him up, though I really have to wonder why they couldn't have started at it earlier in the race, instead of the week before Super Tuesday.

Rubio did well, especially compared to the previous debates, and I couldn't help but love the little exchange between him and Trump that went something like this:

Trump: I saw this guy repeat himself 5 times 4 weeks ago!
Rubio: I just saw you repeat yourself 5 times 5 *seconds* ago!
[Insert audience cheering]

Rubio Razor, anyone?

Cruz did well, as usual, and was just as relentless as Rubio in decimating Trump, launching Cruz missiles thoughout while still taking a couple good shots at Marco. It was a bit interesting though that he didn't seem to have a "homeland advantage" given that the debate was hosted in Texas, at least among the crowd, since Rubio seemed to be getting the loudest and most frequent cheering.

Trump, as usual, insulted everyone, contradicted himself some, and lied his mouth off. While I'm glad the Crubio tag-team went at him and his record as hard as they could, I think it might just be too little too late, as most voters have probably already made up their minds and it has been proven that there simply is no touching Trump's supporters, no matter what happens (and no matter what he says.)

Ben Carson made a fruit salad and acted mostly as a stage decoration. John Kazich was notably more assertive than before, but niether him or Carson have any chance and it felt like "time out, let's let these other two guys talk too" every time it was their turn to speak. While I like Carson, they both have no chance of winning the Primary and they should have dropped out with Chris Christie and Jeb Bush. Or before that. All they're doing now is keeping the votes that could otherwise go to Cruz or Rubio, the only two guys who have a chance at beating Trump and getting us a half-decent nominee for the General Election.

That's my two cents, at least.

Fair enough analysis but do tone it down on the attacks on character.
I'm aware Trump has his issues but keep the argument on policy/substance.

Yes, Cruz and Rubio both worked well in the debate.
The moderators however were absolutely worthless.

I don't know if Trump is stoppable at this point however, he has a cult like following in the party and even is garnering support outside the party among some even Democrats. He actually got 48% of the Latino vote in the Nevada caucus, this after all he said.

I'm uncertain what to make of this, it seems Trump is well on his way to the nomination. I will give him some credit though as he wasn't as rude tonight as he was previous debates.

I guess Trump has hijacked the nomination. Question is now what will happen in a general election and likewise what will happen if Hillary is indicted?

A Trump vs. Berni election, that would be. There would be no where for moderates to go. It would be one extreme versus the other, and God knows where that would take us.

I'm not saying it's impossible that Rubio or Cruz could beat Trump but seeing the cult like following Trump has, I just don't know if he's outpace able anymore.

My apologies.

Let's hope and *pray* it does not come down to Trump vs Hillary/Bernie. We'd basically be guaranteed more tyranny both ways...

You do know that our democratic system almost guarantees non-tyranny. Unless, Mr. Drumpf (Trump's actual last name) bribes everyone in Congress and he becomes CEO.
