All of the thanks to goes to Carnius for a great mod, I am thankful that you are kind enough to make this for me and the rest of the CNC community, without caring about any kind of pay or reimbersment. I and, I believe the rest of the CNC community really just want to say, THANKS CARNIUS! and thank you for coming to TEF.

I believe that there should be upgrades for SW structures, such as: GDI: Defensive Machine Guns (Mainly for Anti Engineer) What do you all think? Edited by: Smallchange |

Hey smallchange, |

In general it is an interesting idea, it may add more fun into game. I think we must first clarify what purpose these upgrades shall serve. |

Yea, as .Mac. had said, the upgrades would basicly have
OR perhaps either or on each, similar to the avatar, multiple choice but you can only have one. which would allow it to fit YOUR play style. |

I am for this. Flying scrin super weapon, for the win. Also @ carnius, be sure to remove the whole, double click to find super weapon thing... -- "Before enlightenment: Chop wood, fetch water. After enlightenment: Chop wood, fetch water." -zen proverb |

I am glad Carnius made it so the shroud around the SWs is no longer uncovered and revealing it to the enemy, but GoldenArbiter is right, that double-click ability that pin-points their location does indeed need to be done away with, if possible. So lately I've been giving this subject a little more thought and here's what I am now thinking: I like smallchange's idea for Scrin's ability to relocate their SW (I think I am more in favor of this idea over mine), which hinders the enemy's ability to locate and destroy it as easily, even if it was once located - this mobilization is very fitting for Scrin. I like this upgrade still also because it is unique and cannot be done by the aid of any other unit/structure. As for the MG installation (kinda was thinking it'd be cool for Scrin to have something similar with their SW by having Buzzers circling it) I am now thinking this wouldn't be needed. Only because this can be accomplished by built defenses and/or units, making some of them required to be placed inside of the base. So I think this kind of upgrade for GDI or either faction is not necessary. I do like the idea of a portable stealth generator for Nod's SW, but now I'm kinda thinking that sort of upgrade isn't necessary either. This can be achieved by the stationary or mobile Stealth Generators - so if stealth is what you want, make use of one of these. So what upgrades then for Nod and GDI? I think just as long as their upgrades are on par with one another with a similar purpose (harder to be destroyed by the enemy) and cannot be duplicated or accomplished by another structure/unit, it will be a good idea. smallchange mentioned an armor increase and I think just that would be acceptable for GDI's SW (and fair in comparison to Scrin's lift-off ability). Perhaps have the upgrade be signified by a Firestorm fence around its perimeter? For Nod, I don't know yet what upgrade would serve a similar purpose and also couldn't be duplicated by another way, such as stealth - maybe this must be an oddball and actually not have a similar function as the others? After all, it does already have the Master Computer Countermeasures upgrade while the other SWs currently have nothing. Here's an idea to chew on: What if Nod had the ability that'd hide from the opponents the countdown timer for when their nuke will be ready?? Still keep the icon, of course, to indicate to all that one is built.. but if this were possible, wouldn't it be fitting for Nod? Granted, the super weapons were smaller then, but we all dealt with this in TS. Not that any of this would affect the AI, but I think most actual players will get very anxious not knowing exactly how much time is left to destroy the temple before it launches the nuke. I think this will also cause some interesting and even desperate strategies too Sorry, I do tend to get lengthy most times when I type, but chime in with input and spark more ideas Edited by: .Mac. |

Here's one fore Nod, building off of .Mac.'s idea: Hide the timer, and give nod a random countdown from 4:00 to 10:00. (Numbers are a guideline for balance) That way the other players can't just have a stop watch nearby... I know that's what I would do.... Oh, and here's another idea for scrin: Maybe rather than have it be undeployable, have it permanently flying (with the option to touch down, maybe), but with a longer countdown for balancing. As for GDI: (gonna take a page out of C&C:TD) maybe make it also act as a secondary radar? Or do something like tibsun and give it 'nodes' for different upgrades. Such as the drop pods from tibsun. -- "Before enlightenment: Chop wood, fetch water. After enlightenment: Chop wood, fetch water." -zen proverb |

I completely agree with .Mac.'s post RE: Scrin & GDI SWs. however regarding NOD's while hiding the timer + giving a random timer might be a very NODish thing to do it might also be unblancing. Instead of it being auto-stealthed: How about giving it a special laser from the "scorpion tail" of the temple (possibly red or green) that functions as an obelisk but can also target aircraft. |
