Ok so this is just an idea i've been thinking about for some time. Not sure if it would work, but what the heck! 8)
So being that the Black Hand is very much a multirole "division" within the Brotherhood, where their primary purpose is the use of Nods most technologically advanced weaponry, and the deployment of elite infantry units on the battlefield, I have always thought that limiting their primary squads to only flamethrowers was a bit "degrading"(this is with the exception of Shadow Teams). Now of course the flamethrowers do serve and important role in Nod's arsenal, but I thought of an idea to open up new possibilities, and present the Black Hand as the more "mulit purpose" elite infantry they are. :)
So how about (like the new Avatar system) you can costumize your Black Hand squads individually ones you have purchased them?
Just to set an example: They start of (like they do now) with flamethrowers. However if you have the necessary tech structures you can choose a number of options to alter the squad. So for example:

"Guidance for the Masses"
Cost: 500$(??)
Requirement: Operations Center
Effect: Replaces the squads flamethrowers with machine guns (like the ones Confessors used in original TW) which of course deals less damage, but the squad inspires all Militants in a radius around the squad itself, granting the Militants a combat bonus (a bit like the Confessor CABAL's in KW).

"Technology of Peace"
Cost: 800$(??)
Requirement: Tech Lab
Effect: Grants all squad members with laser guns (like the ones current Black Hand attachments use) which are highly effective against infantry at long range, and has the ability to shoot at aircraft. However they deal almost no damage to ground vehicles or structures.

So there ya have it! Its just a suggestion and of course the idea is just the main principle of upgrading, and the upgrades themselves can of course be altered or completely changed. And of course when I write the "Cost" I mean individually for each squad like the Avatar ;)
So what do you think? :D

I also like it. I really don't like how Nods elite units have: The flamethrower.

Same thing should be implemented for Zone Troopers as well, me thinks. (anyone else miss zone raiders XD)

NO!
That upgrade was the most ridiculous piece of EA overpower crap I have ever seen!
I dont want an upgrade that just makes them "better". I want upgrades that specializes them. As you can see in my upgrade suggestions, each upgrade give both plus and minus. This means the Black Hand becomes a multirole elite infantry unit, just like they should be.
Technology of Peace: Black Hand squad gets lasers and becomes extremely effective and powerful against infantry at long range, BUT, they lose ability to clear garrisson and becomes virtually non-effective against vehicles and structures.
Guidance for the Masses: Black Hand squad gets machinegun-rifles and adds a morale inspiring aura around them, BUT, the machineguns only have half the range and damage as lasers, and still cant clear garrissons or destroy buildings effectively.
Again, these are individual upgrades for Black Hand squads like the Avatar, which means you can have a small expensive but specialized elite infantry army as Nod...

(I still vote positive on Zone Raiders)

But yah, no. nod already uses napalm. is there really a more powerful version? The flamer that burns twice as bright, burns for half as long. If you increase the heat and speed of the reaction (damage) you would also increase the instability of the mix. there are reasons why flame throwers aren't used in conventional warfare any more; because chances are, you would explode.
