I am hating on the artist and his/her decision to make such a cruel crime that goes against the very canon of the show.
If it was filly Twilight there, the image would have been great. But the artist went this way, and such I have an urge to criticize him/her for it.

Ya, it would have made more sence (and less conterversal) if it was twilight instaid of armor.
It does make sense, though, doesn't it? After all, unicorn pegasi live much longer lives (basically, forever) than regular ponies. Thus, it's not impossible she could have been born a while before Shining. But I agree, this was a strange decision.
Expect that only touches Celestia and Luna, the actual "Alicorns". (and there's not even proof for them to live forever)
Cadence, and any other winged unicorns have the same lifespan as the other ponies. As I've said before, the biggest killer for the argument for Cadence being immortal/long lifespanned is her marriage to Shining Armor. Who does go marry someone who will eventually die well before you do?

The cuteness is the frosting of the picture, while its context the real deal.
With the context being completely sore, the frosting that is cuteness becomes hollow and tasteless.
OC's aren't canon either...or ******* mech ponies, yet I've seen both in the images on here.

The artist of this pic probably just thought "lol lets make a picture of cadance carrying a little shining armor, its gonna be cute as hell!"
For you everything has to be canon even in pics drawn by fans that enjoy the show and just want to contribute with nice fanart. Who cares if something isnt canon? Just enjoy it for what it is, a cute pic made by a guy/girl that loves the show.

I equally hate many MLP crossovers, because they involve twisting characters for the sake of "rule of fun" (which I find to be an insanely retarded thing).
