Have no clue who made this, but props to you!
Tasteless, imo. I prefer Derpy when she's cute, not a caricatural circus-act. Bring the negative karma.
Isn't that how the show originally portrayed her though? Yes, she was cute but a lot of the prime moments that gave her a place in the show came from her background, eye-catching derpiness she displayed. (She's been known for stealing several episodes...)
I just don't find how images like this are insulting to her character. You're starting to sound like those parents who got her original voice removed by saying that she resembled a retarded person and that people were going to "make fun of her" for it.
Whoah, way to read into my comment there. "Starting to sound like those parents" from a single line, lol. You just said it yourself though, that her original appeal came from her cute eye-derpiness. My personal preference for Derpy would be more nuanced, someone who's a bit clumsy and has her head in the clouds, yet with a minimum level of intelligence and personality so as to be three-dimensional. I just don't get that vibe from this picture, hence why I don't like it.
I don't find anything insulting to her character because she's largely a fan construct, so please don't put words in my mouth.
And I'm trying to say there's hardly anything different from that, aside from her being human.
Regardless this is a pointless discussion that sparked because I was confused on what you meant by it being tasteless when this is how Derpy has always been portrayed. It seems to be based purely around opinion so neither of us are going to get anywhere.
