I dont support the idea, tanks using fire as weapon. One mistake or accident and it turn in to an oven . . .
IMO they're better than vulnerable Flamethrower Teams because of protection against small arms and the possible fear factor it would have in the enemy.
But I agree that if the tank takes a direct hit than it does turn into a ball of fire pretty much.
Funnily enough the fuel tanks of a flamethrower blowing up are largely a myth as a regular round won't cause an explosion, especially if a neutral (nonflammable) gas is used.
Not really funny.
