The Fall of the Demon Otar Murderdead, Legends Story Thread - Slaves to Alcohol: Dwarf Fortress Fanpage

I was sent this in a message, and since BaronVengeous didn't post it himself, I thought I'd go ahead and do it since I love it. This is an instance of awesome history from World Generation!

I was playing around with Adventure Mode, for which i
created a brand new region. And whenever i create a new region, i
always go and check out the legends before i begin.

While exploring these legends, I came across an extremely interesting
chain of events, which i shall share with you (I've compiled this list
of events as-written in legend mode) This is with only 50 years of
history:

In a time before time, the demon Otar Murderdead wandered the Underworld
In 1, Otar Murderdead escaped the underworld
In 1, The Coalition of Tapering of The Exalted Union founded Sprinkleleopard
In 1, Nisam Womanpacks settled in Sprinkleleopard
In 2, Nisam became a ranger in Sprinkleleopard
In the early winter of 2, Nisam became the law-giver of The Exalted Union
In the midwinter of 3, Otar fooled the Exalted Union into believing it was Cadap
Cadap was a deity that occurs in the myths of The Exalted Union
In the midwinter of 3, Nisam became a worshiper of Cadap
In the midwinter of 3, Nisam ceased to be the law-giver of The Exalted Union
In the midwinter of 3, Otar became the law-giver of The Exalted Union
In 19, Nisam became obsessed with her own mortality and sought to extend her life by any means
In the late spring of 20, Tombsfought was created be Otar Murderdead, authored Cadap
Tombsfought was a legendary anhydrite slab
In the late spring of 20, Tomsfought was claimed in Sprinkleleopard by the human ranger Nisam Womanpacks

The Mindful Dragons was a human bandit gang.
In the late spring of 21, The Exalted Union declared war on The Mindful Dragons
In the early summer of 22, Otar ceased to be the law-giver of The Exalted Union
In the early summer of 22, The Exalted Union was defeated by The Mindful Dragons
In the early summer of 32, the human Icar Stonecloak was born
In the mid-autumn of 52, Icar Stonecloak became a ranger
In the midwinter of 58, Icar Stonecloak became the law-giver of The Coalition of Tapering
In the midwinter of 58, Icar Stonecloak became the enemy of The Mindful Dragons
In the late spring of 72, The Coalition of Tapering defeated The Mindful Dragons
In the late spring of 72, Icar Stonecloak struck down the human necromancer Nisam Womanpacks
In the late spring of 72, Icar Stonecloak claimed the legendary adhydrite slab Tombsfought
In the earlly summer of 73, Icar Stonecloak struck down the demon Otar Murderdead

So i couldn't help myself, I had to write this up, because it just
seemed too good to be true, so through some assumptions and general
imagination, I created this storyline:

The demon Otar Murderdead escaped from the underworld, while the
human group, The Coalition of Tapering, under the command of The Exalted
Union, founded the hamlet of Sprinkleleopard. Otar fooled The Exalted
Union into believe he was Cadap, their goddess. Through Cadap, Otar
convinced the law-giver of The Exalted Union, the ranger Nisam
Womanpacks, to step down, after which Otar took over as law-giver. Many
years later, Nisam was driven mad by her own mortality, and sought to
extend her life by any means neccesary. Otar saw opportunity in this,
and created the legendary slab Tombsfought, under the pseudonym of
Cadap, Nisam's deity. Nisam soon found Tombsfought in Sprinkleleopard,
and from it learnt the secrets of life and death. Nisam gave up her
place among The Exalted Union, and became a Necromancer, and created the
bandit group The Mindful Dragons, in service of her deity, Cadap, who
of course was merely a puppet of Otar, the lord of the very state Nisam
had put herself against. Otar's plans to sate his hunger for bloodshed
came to fruition, as through Cadap, he ordered The Mindful Dragons to
war against The Exalted Union, which Otar left in dissaray by stepping
down as law-giver. The insuing chaos left The Exalted Union defenseless,
after which they were defeated. Through Cadap, this left Otar in
command of the most powerful necromancer in existence, not to mention
the now most infamous legion of bandits across the world, all of which
could be bent to do his bidding, and fuel his ever-lasting bloodlust. 10
years after the defeat of The Exalted Union, a child was born into The
Mindful Dragons, a child name Icar Stonecloak. Icar would grow up to be a
ranger in the ranks of The Mindful Dragons. After many years of
service, Icar came across The Coalition of Tapering, the last and oldest
remnants of The Exalted Union, while scouting in Spriknleleoplard. The
told him of their plight, and he changed sides, and joined The Coalition
of Tapering. Using the knowledge he gained while in servie to The
Mindful Dragons, he quickly climbd the ranks, and eventually became the
law-giver of The Coalition. After many years of preparation, Icar
launched an attack on The Mindful Dragons, exactly 50 years after the
defeat of The Exalted Union. Through the element of surprise, since of
course, The Mindul Dragons thought The Exalted Union extinct, The
Coalition defeated The Dragons, and Icar struck down Nisam himself. The
Temples built by The Mindful Dragons were immedately purged, however
Icar suspected that the battle was not yet over. During the purge, Icar
came across the slab Tombsfought, and through reading it, discovered
that all the events over the last 72 years, had been guided by Otar's
hidden hand. And so Icar instantly initiated an expedition to
Sprinkleleopard, the origin of Tombsfought, the origin of Otar's grand
scheme. And so there, in the throne room of Sprinkleleopard, Icar saw
for himself the demon Otar Murderdead, sitting upon the golden throne,
waiting for him. Otar merely waved his hand at Icar, expecting him to
die immedeately, as one usually would. However, Otar had not realised
that Icar had learnt from Tombsfought, and Icar quickly struck down
Otar, with the slash of his golden sword, and reclaimed the ancient
lands of his people.

This is why I love DwarfFortress.
