Capitalist societies value risk taking and investment to grow enterprise and voluntary interactions to maximise social cooperation. Capitalism is a wild dog- tame it and it'll be your loyal friend, let it roam wild and it will likely bite your face off one day.
Capitalism finds it's roots in the Judeo-Christian Heritage. This means in part that the "Common Law" which mean civility is basic to capitalism. This also means that the foundational principals of fiduciary responsibility apply to our commercial dealings with our fellow man. These are Good Faith, Fair Dealing and Full Disclosure
In western capitalist societies only a few basic laws are needed.
