For all the old skool modders that have stuck by Mod DB from v1 to v4. A lot has changed as over the years as the site moved from a dark v1 to a bright and rounded v2, to the classic v3 and now the all mighty v4! To join this group you must have joined the Mod DB in 2002 or be a KNOWN long time hardcore user!
The Mod DB continues the tradition that is making modification oriented webpages, and some may think it picks up where ModRealm left off however I can assure you this is far from the truth. The focus of the modDB is on the community, and hopefully building up a hub of users all interested in modifications who shall consequently partake in discussions, and other fun activities. So comon now, cease reading all this junk from me and go share your thoughts across this page, add your mods and one day the modDB will hit its goal that is a comprehensive searchable listing of every modification for every game ever created!
Im glad that ModDB has evolved as much as it has before i found it. Else i dont think i would have signed up lol :D
Bring back rotating mod banners!
lol.
Also, I agree entirely. Rotating mod banners FTW!
True that was awesome in v1
I agree
Yeah, the banner rotation was awesome. I see no proper place for it on the v4 design though
i concur even though my v1 account is lost 4 eva
The good old days. Also, needs more rotating banners.
Straight and to the point. As it should be.
Wow, i remember testing v1 before it went public... way way back in the day :P
Lol, "Mod of the Week!" Yeah, right... :roll eyes:
v1 had a charm of its own, no questions asked. Especially the banner I liked the most. Not intrusive but still dynamic.
Holy bastard I miss those days
I still love this one.
Like the Heavy would say:
"Good times!"
Wow, v1 sure does bring memories. Each version has evolved greatly ;P
I still like the 0.5-1.5 design the best :(
I loved this version best :)
Mod DB as of December 30th, 2003:
Web.archive.org
Here is the site that allowed me to see that page:
Archive.org
Ambershee is on the front page! :3
that's how everything started...
Easily my favourite.
I love the alerts, "7mW"? 7 milli-watts of alertness?
Even though it was all grey, it was still a breakthrough in community design, still is actually. I've never found another community so organized and integrated as this.
I remember it so well! :(
really old school theme!
