I have always chosen an option that i thought i would do in real life situations, sometimes renegade, sometimes paragon...
My thoughts exactly. Do what you would in real life. Though I ended up slightly with Paragon over Renegade, in all the trilogy, I always treat people the way they treat me. When Han'Gerrel fired on that dreadnaught, I sure as hell punched him back. If he didn't, I wouldn't.
ME1 Renegade: Ruthless.
ME2 Renegade: "Badass".
ME3 Renegade: *******.
I've taken the Renegade option twice in ME2 both in Tuchanka because two Krogan speeches were annoying me (the Grunt's initiation priest and the mad warlord) and I just wanted them to shut up.
It worked wonders.

In my book, defeating Uvenk with words was just as satisfying - besides, you get to kick his *** later anyway.
Every time i try to do renegade/paragon i can't do it. Like Sanuinius said, i do what i would do in real life.
The real thing that ****** me off is that half the time instead of being a badass the renegade option makes you look like a douche and half the time the paragon option, instead of making you seem level headed and wise makes you look like a pussy. lol
