This here is the cover to the first issue of Darkhorse and Bioware's Mass Effect: Evolution series. The four-issue arc will detail the enigmatic 'Illusive Man's' as yet unknown past.

Its a star. Also i preffer after the ending of the game if you choose renegade then star behind illusive man will be red & black. If you choose paragon then it will be light-blue.
