The Gauntlet image - Mandalorians

*In the lounge, Ori'verda sat near the gate into the arena. Staring onto the holoscreens and waiting for a worthy adversary. Depending on the type of battle, there could be many potential gladiators for him to face or none. Death match in particular had few participants, with beast fights coming in a close second. Team battles and duels where killing was no option had the most challengers.*

*Ori'verda however, was game for it all and did not care what he would face. He was there to hone his skill, to become a better warrior.*

*He checked his gear, making sure it all worked. His Mandalorian Combat Weapon model 101 folded up and out, the scopes were quick to alter their magnification and the attachments were solid.*

*The Shredders seemed to work, the Shatter pistol was loaded with its rounds and the sight was clear. The Sonic brother of the Shatter Shredder was set to human by default, its setting storage had a plethora of alternative aliens as targets as well so with a flick of a button the Sonics could be adapted to other beings quickly.*

*Ori'verda's wrist weapons seemed functional, the wrist blaster was attached and powered, the whipcord was in place to be used and his jetpack had plenty fuel.*

*And finally his melee weapons, Tremor and Chaos. Tremor was smooth and sharp as ever, not as sharp as Obsidian but still sharp enough to cut something easily, the beskad was strong and durable, its katana-style shape would make it very fast in battle so Ori'verda placed it over his shoulder, next to his jetpack for easy reach. Every day he practised pulling it from its sheath as quickly as possible, now he could grab it, cut an enemy and place it back in under a minute.*

*Lastly Chaos, the double-bladed breakable Darksaber that was gifted to his ancestor by ancient Dark Lords of the Sith. It had seen little use but all who held it knew it was powerful, very powerful.*

*From the underground caverns all spectators could hear ferocious roars and shrieks as the beasters unlocked the cages. Noone knew what lied in store now, but the suspence was killing the crowd as they knew cassus entered the battlefield... and the guantlet would be sure to show it's fist.*

*The northern gate opened, 4 beasters struggeled with their animals but finally succeeded. Cannocks swarmed the arena. Though not that formidable, these cannocks were famished and would eat everything in sight. The cannocks were hunted by a hardo of Maalraas, which in ancient times were considered a chore to kill by the mando'ade. Some of these Maalraas were different, modified to have tougher hides and poisonous fangs.*

*The crowd cheered as this obviously alluded to the mandalorian victory on Onderon. The northern gate was closest to Cassus, but the cannocks went for the nearby corpes first driven by their hunger. The Maalraas were smarter and stayed back untill the cannocks started to attack the warriors.*

*Ori'verda engaged his jetpack in order to gain ground over the beasts, knowing he could not fight and fly at the same time as he had not trained himself to perform such feats.*

*He landed across the arena and took out his MCW-101, it folded out and took shape around his arm. He took a knee and placed his hand underneath the barrel, a foregrip landed on his fingers and he grasped it, his scope adjusted to the distant enemies.*

*They were distant, but fast and numerous. Gaining ground quickly. Ori'verda breathed slowly and pulled the trigger, one shot for the head of each Cannock. Half of them were felled before they got close.*

*The remaining Cannock showed some sign of intelligence as they tried not to devour each other and actually spread out a bit instead of simply rushing the warrior, whom took out his beskad. With Tremor in hand, Ori'verda simply awaited his adversary which jumped in a blind frenzy, all of them jumped nearly synchronized and with a quick slash from the beskar sword many of them were cut horizontally and died.*

*However, the momentum their carcasses built up was sustained and the combined mass of four Cannock bodies toppled the Mandalorian. The Malraas were still about, Ori'verda remembered this so he quickly pushed off the beasts and raised himself as fast as he could but as soon as he did a Malraas landed on his chest, the light feline did not have enough mass to cause Ori’verda to fall this time.*

*Quickly he punched the beast in the face and regained situation awareness of his surroundings, unlike the Cannocks the Malraas were a bit more co-ordinated and had surrounded him, ready to pounce on him if he turned his back. Which they did, except this was what he anticipated and so the beast was flipped over and shot and point blank by Ori’verda’s wrist blaster, given his beskad would be useless if used to stab.*

*The remaining Malraas circled quickly, making feint attacks. For pitiless beasts these Malraas seemed well trained and intelligent, however Ori’verda did not pity their oncoming fate. The felines timed their strike, one from the front and two from the back. Ori’verda sidestepped and watched the beasts tumble over each other, however in doing so he was caught off guard by the two other Malraas who started to gnaw at his feet. With a quickly slice he finished one and the other he hurled away, it was bruised but not beaten as it landed and clambered back up a few meters away.*

*The three near Malraas awaited their fourth member’s return, this gave Ori’verda ample time to test out the secondary feature of the MCW-101 which was a close range scattershot. The Malraas were instantly felled beneath a hailstorm of laser pellets their hide could not resist.*

*With three Malraas taken care of he turned his attention to his final opponent, it sprinted towards Ori’verda in order to build momentum and crash into him. However all the Mandalorian did as the cat took to the air was sidestep and launch his whipcord around its neck, chocking it to death.*

*He raised his blade in victory and the crowd cheered at the spectacle he delivered, the actual Mandalorians who were present in order to watch his fighting techniques in this makeshift training noted the true reason for the prolonged battle, Ori’verda was playing the crown by showing off his equipment and skill instead of providing himself with a challenge or dealing with the feeble beasts easily.*

OOC: I kinda took over because I want to make an epic thingy and skip to the good battles, if you mind I can delete stuff.

*The young warrior Terek Skirata enters from the eastern side of the Gauntlet, the cheering of the crowd engulfs him and reaches his ears through his helmet.*

*On the western side a gate slides open and a group of six Vornskr rush out, they are smaller then the fully grown Vornskr and lack the same red eyes and fur but are still potent in sufficient numbers.*

*They divide themselves into three groups, two each. Two charge from the front, two from the left and two from the right. They are quick but still a long way from Terek.*

*As if the cannocks and maalraas were just foreplay, the northern gate swung open again. Bomas, enraged by cattle prods, charged to the mandalorians on the field. They ran over a few unprepared Mandalorians, breaking all of their bones. These Bomas were handpicked to be the largest of their kind.*

*While storming over the arena, the center of the gauntlet burst open reavealing a Zakkeg beast. It was released amidst a group of fighting mandalorians whom suddenly found them at ods with the alpha predator. The vertical doors closed immediatly. Cover in the form of ancient mandalorian collumns were raised but so did trapdoors and spikes. Some of these halted the boma's charge but they were not placed there to help the combatants..*

*At the unexpected turn of events, the Gauntlet sprang alive with more Mandalorians and more beasts to slaughter. Even traps, spikes and pillars rose and collapsed everywhere.*

*With Bomas charging on one side, crushing the few brave Mandalorians to stand their ground near several broken collumns, their stampede obviously halted when they sighted the massive Zakkeg in the centre whom roared at the gathering of Bomas and Mandalorians. To this end the Bomas changed direction and continued their dash in a circle around the edges of the Gauntlet.*

*The Mandalorians were tightly pressed between the circling and sometimes gnawing of the Bomas, the several Vornskr that preyed upon lone warriors and the fearsome Zakkeg which was unmoved by any of the traps and spikes.*

"Mandalorians rally! Take the high ground, climb the columns. The rest of you, do what I do."

*Quickly several clambered up and started to snipe at the Zakkeg which enraged it into charging, tipping several columns over on its way and loosening large spikes. The Vornskr who had been previously deployed were now also crushed beneath the feet of the Zakkeg or fell pray to Mandalorian snipers.*

*Meanwhile the small group that followed Ori'verda planted several makeshift charges along several pillars and took the long spikes. Upon detonation the pillars fell in place in a circular pattern, spikes were erected in front and the Mandalorians took position in their new makeshift trench.*

*The Zakkeg lined itself up to crush this fortification, it charged and most Mandalorians turned to fire at the beast. Praying the spikes, columns and laser fire would destroy it.*

OOC: i think corden will organise a galaxy wide hunger games after this...

*The Zakkeg was an unstopable beast. It's hide was considered as strong as durasteel, yet it's belly was softer. It managed to crush the makeshift fortifications in it's charge, but the spikes tore it's belly open from one side to another. The mando'ade were covered in stinking organs and damping blood. In it's last moments it managed to hurt several mandos around it.*

* The smart vronskr followed the zakkeg and used it's body to leap over the fortifications. Terek killed another one but his left arm was hit with a venomous tail and thus started to suffer from paralysing effects. The other three were killed by snipers safe for one, the pack leader. He snuck up to Cassus from behind. *

*The bomas threw themselves against the barricade pushed forward by the overseers.*

*Between the Zakkeg being killed and letting its guts flow all over him and the pack of Vornskr using the carcass of the once mighty beast as a bridge, the explosive nature of the situation became apparent as he rose back to his feat.*

*Behind him, the Mandalorians were fighting the onslaught of Bomas charging, much of them were cut down from concentrated fire and others from the spikes, the Bomas crawled up and over their deceased species members' bodies in order to bite the Mandalorians standing behind their trench.*

*Melee battles ensued throughout the trench. This was noted by Ori'verda who drew his beskad only to be hit by the tail of the alpha Vornskr that had gone unnoticed. His arm numbed, he used his other and raised it in order to fire the wrist blaster but the beast was quick to evade and tackled the warrior.*

*On the dirt ground they rolled around for supremacy, Ori'verda came out on top and once more raised his wrist blaster but the venomous Vornskr raised its tail and hit Ori'verda on his back which also caused his jetpack to launch, propelling him into the air.*

*Whilst the canine bellow grinned in its own way at the now flying Mandalorian, Ori'verda regained control of both his jetpack and his arm and managed to land near the beast, only to find out that with a numb back he would tip over. The alpha Vornskr jumped in for the kill, but you don't need your back to swing the sword clutched in your hands and so the belly of the canine was sliced open.*

*After a while, the numbness subsided and so did the fighting for a brief moment. He rose to his feet, his comrades around him. Ori'verda raised his arm and so did the others shortly after him, they celebrated in unison and the crowd cheered.*

* With the vronskr dead, the cannocks and maalraas slaughtered and most bomas fleeing, the battlefield reset itself. Cliffsides and high rocks were generated. This could only mean one thing, as the mandos recovered, black shadows were cast on the cliffs. 5 Giant Drexls preyed upon the warriors. *

* Terek was unknowingly standing on shifiting rubble, when the changing of terrain hurled him upwards as with most other mandos like cassus. This made Terek easy prey, before he could activate his jetpack, a Drexl flew in and grabbed him. During flight it attempted to eat him alive. *

OOC: anyone interested in being the game master after this so corden can join in?

*When the change in terrain ceased, Ori'verda yelled at the other warriors to reform a battleline. Two lines, one aiming high for aerial targets and the other aiming low for groundbound targets.*

*The long match took a toll on Ori'verda and some of the other warriors, but they did not let their guard down.*

*The Drexl were smart and avoided getting into the Mandalorian blastermade anti-air nest, they charged for the crowd which were protected by shields. The beasts quickly noted that they could not attack the unarmed and reformulated their strategy.*

*From a distance Ori'verda noticed Solus'cabur trying to safe Terek, he broke the lines and moved to assist.*

* The southern gate opened, but no additional beast entered.
instead it was a mandalorian who treaded inside. He was not proficient with jetpacks so compared to the others he wore a large, heavy and quite technical beskar'gam. He raised his arms to the crowd and armed himself. *

* His repeater readied he stormed the remaining cannocks/bomas, the few who were left died fast at the stream of laser bolts. He slipped around the corpses into the narrow cliffs. He saw *
Solus struggling and fired on the three injured drexl, he managed to shoot one in its mouth. He dropped down gurgeling blood. Corden seemed to have pierced its troath. *

OOC: this is how i see it, the outer ring has no obstacles what so ever but you are easy prey there. in a circular shape in the middle, numorous towering small and steep cliffs were erected, most of the same size. the underneath them was basicly a narrow, dark and claustrophobic maze. The only way up the cliffs was via ladders or scarce repulsorlift "catapults". easy way up, but not down. so the krayt can't really enter there atm, but you could push the combatants to the edge of the ring :P

*Terek would do fine now that there were three Mandalorians to aid him, however once the screams of others being slaughtered reached his visor receptors, the tired Mandalorian mentally dropped to his knees. For the sake of one man there could be a large group dead now.*

*Without further hesitation he engaged his jetpack in its jumpjet mode in order to quickly cross the sky, as fate would have it a Drexl just happened to be nearby circling on the dead Mandalorians like a vulture.*

*The beast of prey turned Ori'verda into a Onderonian beast rider, or so he convinced himself as he mounted the beast mid-flight. The Drexl did not respond kindly and tossed around at every turn, but at least it went in the general direction of the Krayt.*

*With a quick shot from his wrist blaster, Ori'verda felled the beast which dove straight down. He activated his jumpjet, draining it of its last ounce of fuel and landed directly on the Krayt. Staring into its eyes which only could see two-dimensional blurs.*

*The crowd looked on as the mouth opened, it was then that Ori'verda stared into it and saw the only weakspot of the dragon. The sinus that led to the brain. He let go of the nose of the beast and descended into its mouth, taking out his rifle and firing a salvo in effort to kill it before its jaws fully closed and the teeth crushed him.*

* Corden turned his spinning repeater to the remaining drexl. He didn't bother firing in bursts as he wanted to hold them back from solus so he had a change to catch up with corden. *

"Damn noobs."

* He hung his repeater on his back and switched it for his sniper. His marksman rifle was more concentrated on stopping power and penetration rather than accuracy. He fired as fast as possible handeling the immense recoil with his muscled arms. He managed to hit some, the 50. cal pierced their scales. *

*Inside the monster, Ori'verda grabs a glowstick and lights the stomach of the beast. All around the decomposing bodies of the dead, rotting and torn in half, clothes hanging on the flesh like rags to cover some of the deceased and their dignity.*

*He checked his armor and equipment, the plates started to corrode a bit and he could feel his flak vest starting to get heavy, the equipment was non-responsive and he was in luck that the glowsticks still worked. Primitive technology seemed to prevail here.*

*Some distance from him, there were two others survivors. One was a Zabrak child and the other a Cannock. Both were locked in a struggle, with a strike of Tremor the Cannock died and the child was saved. Though the child and Ori'verda could not understand each other, the little Zabrak was still thankful.*

*With Tremor in hand and the child on his back, he set out climbing out of the belly. He once more reached the reeking mouth. With a slash he cut into the sinus of the Krayt in an attempt to finish what he had started.*

*In an attempt to end the corniness of ori's story, He let the two Mandalorian warriors to deal with the drexl. Corden sprinted to the krayt (leaving his sniper behind) who seemed to be trying to vomit something out...

Corden grabbed one of the horns on the side of it's neck and he tried to clim up. The beast violontly tried to shake Corden off. It tore Corden's left armor plates off in one slash. Corden breathed heabvily but remained on top (giggity) where he grabbed echo and thrust it in between the beast's cervical vertebrae. The beskar blade sliced trough it deeper than a normal sword would. He hit an artery, blood came gushing out by the gallons.
The beast was enraged and threw Corden off. *

OOC: Wout! Total KS dude. I hate you now for life! *Rage quit*. :P.

*With the Krayt dragon finally dead, Ori'verda turned around and looked to see if someone was there. Nobody. Though on the "ground" lay a Krayt dragon pearl, which he snatched for himself.*

*Then he simply left through the maw of the dead beast, covered in saliva. He watched Corden sit on the carcass of the Krayt dragon with his sword in the beast (giggity goo) and the crowd cheered. Ori'verda laughed at the spectacle, despite going through all the trouble someone else had taken the glory. Then again, the crowd was fickle so that could change quickly.*

*The Drexl that tried to escape soon realized they had no where to go as they clashed again and again with the Gauntlet's shields.*

OOC: Let's end this before I decide to fight a Gorog to reclaim my honor! ;D.

IC; Corden, being the total badass of this match, get's all the crowds' attention and love while cassus's jimmies were rustled.

"You might wanna wash that off cassus you smell like you've plowed your way trough a heap of banta ****."

* Corden didn't see a krayt pear so he ordered it's head to be taken away as a trophy. also he slashed of some of it's giant horns. Corden went on to congratulate the other two. *

"First time here huh?"

*Ori'verda grabs Corden by his arm, which still clenched Echo. He raises it in the air and his other arm, displaying the Krayt Dragon Pearl. The crowd goes ecstatic at the sight of these two great warriors.*

"Brothers share the glory eh Corden? I saw the burden was a bit too heavy so I thought I could help you lift it."

*Corden laughed and padded (or rather smashed) cassus on the back.*

"You're allright Cassy, for an ori'verda at least.. huahahaha."

"Someone has to bring the muscle as well as brains to the table, speaking of which."

*With a swipe of his gauntlet he removed a piece of Krayt dragon brain from his shoulder.*

"But you're a good fighter, obviously stronger then me. Probably smarter in some areas too. Lets cut a deal, I'll do the paperwork and mobility fighting whilst you club our enemies to death and do a logistics check on the loot. Together we'd make a dastardly team."

"Elek, however only if Ghast can tag along. He's not likeable but will surely make for a decent shipkeeper! Make sure to tell me how his face looked when you told him"

* He laughed and picked up his gear. *

OOC: meanwhile HH is confus

Days after the beast battles, the gauntlet filled again with a crowd to see the deathmatch rounds. The battles already started hours ago.
One particular figure jumped out. The masked warrior killed the others time after time with his dual shortened vibroblades.

*Always ready for a fight, Ori'verda took to the rings once more. Upon hearing that there was a death match, he could not resist taking his chances and truly testing his skill.*

The figure sensed Ori's arrival. He did not know where he was but he was cautious and at the ready.

*Wondering why the hooded figure needed to sense, as Ori'verda was simply before him. He ignored such trivialities and took out his rifle, getting down on one knee and shooting at the other warrior.*

*The sith choked terek enraged because he did not bet on him.*

The sith dropped his blade and reached for his main weapon. A red single blade lightsaber of a nice and splendid sith design. It had milk and eggs in it.

He ran towards cassy and did a saber throw, it cut straight trough his rifle.

*Several blaster bolts hit the Sith as he reached for his weapon, even more as he sprinted towards Ori'verda. The Lightsaber flew through the air and cut the rifle down, quickly it flew back to its master's hand and quickly Ori'verda grabbed his pistols.*

*Justice quickly set itself to the species of the Sith as Ori'verda pulled the trigger. On Revenge, he let five slugs fly, joining the two earlier fired sonics.*

The sith had no problem evading the first shots as he expected that sneaky serbian to always shoot first (unlike greedo go away gearge lucas with your star wars anniversary edition). The sith did a barrel roll and evaded the sonic projectiles, he send forth force lighting and bbq'd the mandalorian.

*The Lightning bolts hit Ori'verda on his chest shock plates, removing them. Once more he shot his pistols, this time he rose up to his feet and moved closer to his adversary as he was firing at a wider area then before.*

OOC: Technically a narrower area as I move toward you xD.

The sith got hit but in turn he used that pain to fuel his digestion system. enraged by the sudden farts he released from his inner buttocks, unknown to his enemy, he then jumped the warrior deflecting any incoming shots and slashed at him with his lightsaber.
