this is a group, (like the tank and aircraft lovers) is dedicated to the IFV (infantry fighting vehicle) like the BMP-2 the M2A2 bradly and so on and so forth, from made up to real life, and anything in between. from treads to wheels to hover, this is for all you people who enjoy those rumbling rolling armored vehicles, that when on the target drop their ramps to emit a large group of infantry. The epitome of all Infantry fighting vehicles.
Why doesn't the US do something like this ?
they did something similar: En.wikipedia.org
It was used in the vietnam war to great effect. But having to reload it outside the vehicle proved inconvinent.
inconveinient*
Not quite what I was thinking.
Sort of the IFV with more emphasis in firepower like a shitload of AT missiles and more autocannons.
Ah right i see what you mean. I didn't notice the autocannons.
the Ontos cannot be compared to this, it was good it theory, but not in practice, especially with recoilless Rifles. however, i guess we'll never really know how good it was, as it almost never came up against any Vietnamese Armour. also i read somewhere that in order to reload it you needed permission from battalion. if thats true whose idea was that?
also a question is that auto-cannon on the vehicle?or is there another tank or something behind it?
Has anyone else noticed the small 'nozzels' on the far edges of the body, next to the 2 large periscope mounts. Are those secondary machineguns or something.
BTW, for future reference, i have seen other pics of this vehicle, it has 2x 30mm cannon + 4x Anti-Armour Missiles
no they arent MGs because it BMPT has only 1 MG and its located coaxially next to the 30mms
too bad it only used for evaluation this could be rival to bradley
