Yep, they are.
That combat harness is ridiculous as hell. You have 6 hooks to carry AT-mines (1 hook can carry 2 or 3 Mines), so you can carry 15-21 Mines max. if you count 3 in both hands.
And to that add weight from your Rifle+Ammo and all other combat gear...
We (in Bulgaria) don't have conscript army any more. However my father told me stories about his time in the conscripts which would be the period around the end of the sixties. Anyway, the technology then was primitive in comparison to now day standards. In the heat of the battle you'll most likely be on foot and as a sapper you had to carry 4 to 6 AT mines (weighting 7 kg each) by hand. This makes 28 to 42 kg of extra weight on top of your standard equipment. I don't know about you but for me that's a LOT kilos for a person to handle. Now let's calculate 21 mines' weight =) Getting a bit ridiculous don't you think? Also I can totally understand why the mines had to be carried by hand back in the day but I don't understand why one would need to carry 21 mines in modern days =) This picture is clearly made for the LOLZ with dummy mines because it just isn't practical to train in such manner and you will never have to do anything even remotely close to it in real field conditions. I call this bollocks.
I think this is a repost but it's a pretty good one so I guess it's okay?
I pretty sure that I have posted this at least once before but it might have been in another group =)
Ahh yeah! The glorious Finnish military service! Carried those mines more times than I can count! TJ0!
(And BTW, if someone hasn't it figured out yet, that guy is a Finnish officer candidate.)
So instead of Vladimir, it should be something like Juhani or Matti. Those are Finnish names right?
Simo Häyhä?
Also, if they are Finnish;
You see Juhani
when wear armour like mine
soviets never shoot you for fear of detach Kola peninsula

And carry that weight for the whole march...

Those mines weight 10kg each. So, that is ALOT of weight. And true, sappers/pioneers carry more than that (4-6 in each hand)
That's just silly mate =) 210 kilograms of extra luggage come on =)
Dear vladimir, try not to fall, else you'll take wipe out a city block :p
Tell that to snipers...
But Vladimir, tell snipers mines are of contain chemical poisons, they shoot never.
Shoot anyway, he'll die before we do...
^^ solid point :D
What if Vladimir carry he mine on his head ?
Good but RE-POST!
