I would prefer Khorne. I always wondered what a khornate Humanity would achieve, since warfare actually boost technological innovation, in the same amount of time we had up until now.
You are forgetting that Khorne favours glorious melee combat. If all of humanity were following his rules, warfare would be just like in the past, 100% melee.
Now, if the khornates had enemies that used other weaponry, then they would use it too, but if not, they would fight each other just for glory and Khorne. That means only glorious melee combat.
I don't see much technological innovation coming out of that.

He favours melee, but it is not a strict tenet of the faith. Khorne does bless ranged weaponry aswell.
